From an update email from writer George Saunders: "I also just read a galley of Jeff Tweedy’s forthcoming memoir about his time in Wilco, “Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back.)” He is such a gifted, natural, and funny writer and this book is full of gems about the creative process and also about addiction and recovery. The Tweedy you love in his songs is here in his prose as well: loving and wry and wide-open. (I also got to interview Jeff, for GQ, during my Chicago trip and he was, not surprisingly, brilliant, especially on the subject of songwriting and how the essence of a person’s creativity inv

I love this mini-review! Sounds wonderful.
-
This happens more and more as I get older.
-
Omg, you at 14! The mind reels.
-
Good luck! I'll be trying too!

Great review. I can't wait to read this book!

This state could use all the enemas it can get.

I saw some of Tim's clips...looked wonderful!

Oh, he'd have them on his Supreme Court if he could. Watch out for the females, donald.
-
I know we're all tired of remarking on what a SOB he is, but has history ever produced a SOB so complete? Please die, donald.

I feel like this dignified-sounding cyclone is going to turn out to be an ugly beast. Take care, you gulf coast people.

I so appreciate your observant and detailed reviews, bbop. Your prodigious memory is such a gift, too, and reading this has brought back a thousand small memories of the night. You've really captured the tone of the crowd and the venue. What was up with that person mid-room who kept doing the mariachi yell?! Weird. -
Thank God, we had a civil crowd and no one felt the need to bring up that dope!
-
I'm not known for my concert reviews but I was so moved by all the silliness and joy and love tonight.
-
Let me know if you have a spare.
-
So good to hear from you! I was just thinking of you the other day. I doubt I'll see Jeff...he will zip straight from the venue to his brother-in-law Danny's house. But if the chance should occur, you got it!

Jeff Tweedy for me tonight, at The Ace in L.A.
-
Today I am happy because even though Brett Kavanaugh is in the world, so is Jeff Tweedy, and I get to see him tonight at The Ace! Fuck BK.
-
Wow Lizish, lucky you!!!
-
I'll be there, who else? I sure need this show right now.
-
I am so angry right now I could spit nails. If only I could get close enough to spit them at Kavanaugh. Or McConnell. Or Lindsey Graham. Trust me, my aim would be true.
-
Or....have I? Also those were never weights, that was a body. And it wasn't me it was "Bart". Devo was right. And trump is leading the backwards charge.

I do save my calendars, because I realized how useful they were to date various photos, activities, gardening jobs, etc. I use those spiral-bound desk calendars and they are full of daily notations to myself. Brings back my life at a glance! So I have a drawer with a little stack of those.* And I do use real wall calendars. I like the art and they keep me oriented over a longer stretch of time. How do people get by without calendars? *They do not, however, notate the times I went out for 'skis with my bros.
