  1. Would anyone else find it useful to have a pinned post listing all of Wilco's non-album tracks and where they can be found? Promos, soundtracks, EPs, etc? I keep hearing these sorts of questions asked and thought one spot to look would be great. I have a list I've made myself and I'd be happy to maintain a a list here. What do the Admins think?
  2. From http://www.hitbyatrain.com/ http://www.myspace.com/theold97s Good to see some new music form these guys. Anyone hear when this is coming out?
  3. A buddy of mine does a good new music podcast that's heavy on local and unsigned artist in Indianapolis. you can find it here: http://indianapolismusic.net/category/imn-podcast/
  4. I saw it in Indianapolis last weekend. It was great. Run, don't walk to your nearest IMAX to see it. Worth the $13.50 I paid. If you're a U2 fan and have seen them in in concert, you'll be taken back to the show you saw. If you've never seen them before, this is the next best thing to being there. If you're a Bono hater, and there are a lot on these boards, stay far away. It's everything you all hate about Bono and U2. I'm a huge U2 fan, so I'm biased. I saw it with 4 friends. 2 of which had never seen U2 and another who's a more casual fan and they all loved it. Bono's over the top d
  5. 4 times. Buskirk-Chumley Theatre, Bloomington, IN, 1999-11-04 (Summerteeth tour. Tiny, yet beautiful theater) Axis, Bloomington, IN, 2002-04-18 (5 days before release of YHF) Comerica Tastefest, Detroit, MI, 2003-07-02 (I drove 6 hours to this show and stayed the weekend with a buddy from graduate school. I got to see the live premiere of "The Late Greats") IU Auditorium, Bloomington, IN, 2006-04-17
  6. I missed the Vertigo tour. My son was less than 1 year old and we had our hands full. I did see three dates on the Elevation tour. 1 in Indy and 2 in Chicago. 2 of those shows i was on the floor, just a few feet from the stage. Great shows. I'm going to see the U2 3D movie this weekend.
  7. I'll be staying either at Paris or Bally's. Those are the "conference hotels." Never heard of Paigow Poker. Any online sites where I could learn to play? Is this usually a table game or an electronic style game? I've never been much for OTB style gambling, but 2 free drinks for a $2 bet is a bargain! I
  8. I'm going to Las Vegas in the spring for the first time. Who's been before? So, give me some tips. Where to go, what to see, loosest slots, cheapest drinks, best buffet. I love brew-pubs. Whenever I travel I try to search out good, fresh craft beer. It looks like there are a ton of brew-pubs in Vegas. Any that anyone would recommend? How about the Vegas Hofbrauhaus? What's a good/fun table games to start on for an absolute novice? How about old downtown Vegas? How's the Freemont Street Experience? Thanks!
  9. I just went through the track list and compared it against the song indexes at answeringbell.com I think the only song I haven't heard before is "Nurse With The Pills" Lots of great stuff on there!
  10. Thansk for the info. I hadn't heard about this one. I was just about to try to find a used copy on eBay, but I think I'll wait for this to come out instead.
  11. I'm planning on see that U2 3D film next weekend. It's playing at the Indiana State Museum IMAX. I drove by on Friday and they have a huge (2 story +) banner advertising the film. What's the likelihood I can get that in my car................. I didn't get to see any of the dates on the Vertigo tour so I'm really looking forward to this!
  12. OK, I cheated a little. My quote used 5 words, not 4. Camp Midnite - a return to the idealised past PHOTO: http://www.flickr.com/photos/caminare/2172703321/
  13. Very cool. I've been meaning to hear Cale's origional version of this song. I've just heard the Jay Bennett/Ed Burch version. Thanks!
  14. Is that you on Santa's lap? We did a similar cover a few years ago. Cute. I love that Leroy Bach track. One of my all time favorites.
  15. Thanks for posting! This is the 6th year that my wife and I have done Christmas mix also. It's as much a tradition in the Roach house as fruitcake or a cold glass of Nogasake. Grab your own copy from my blog here. Hope you all enjoy it! Anyone else do a mix?
  16. Very cool. thanks for posting. Is that your blog? Pretty cool. I'll be reading it in the future.
  17. COOL. Crossing fingers they make it to Indiana. Just kidding, don't see that as likely. I saw them supporting Big Red Letter day in Indianapolis back in 1994. Great show.
  18. Would a smirk work? A buddy of mine in High School met Neil once when he was bicycling through Indiana and stopped off at the Dairy Queen that we worked at. I missed meeting him by like an hour.

  20. Wow. That's scary similar to a memory I have. I was in 7th grade also, I think. (Did you graduate High School in 1993?) Joshua Tree was all over the radio and this new thing called cable TV that my family just got. My parents were all worried about the sexually suggestive videos on MTV (When MTV still played videos), but that didn't keep me from watching. U2, The Police, Robert Palmer, Peter Gabriel, Guns 'n Roses. anyway, I didn't even own the Joshua Tree yet and in my music classes were were supposed to listen to your favorite Cassette Tape(!) and design a new cover for it. Mine e
  21. Hum. interesting. i hope that they space these out enough so that there is enough time to really see the albums in historical perspective. I wouldn't want a re-release of say "Pop" until say, at least 2017. I could see this effectively being done for Boy (with U2/3 and the early singles and demos), October, War (with "Under a Blood Red Sky" and the "Live at Red Rocks" film), and Unforgettable Fire (with "Wide Awake in America" and the videos from "The Unforgettable Fire Collection"). Not enough time has passed for the others, including Rattle and Hum and Achtung Baby.
  22. No, I haven't. I'm going to have to wait until Santa Claus (aka my wife) puts it under the Christmas tree. I picked up a copy on eBay about 6 years ago for around $20. holy cr*p that price has gone up! Here's one on eBay for $117! Drop me a PM if there is a specific track you'd like to hear.
  23. Here's my take. Keep in mind I'm a big U2 fan. Many of these are easily forgettable. There was a reason they were cut from the album and only reelased as b-sides. And a reason none are still (if ever) played live. 1. Luminous Times (Hold On To Love) (Best of & Boxed set) 2. Walk To The Water (Best of & Boxed set) - the best of the JT b-sides. 3. Spanish Eyes (Best of & Boxed set) 4. Silver And Gold (Best of & Boxed set) - good track. Not as good as either the Rattle and Hum version or the "Sun City" version. 5. Sweetest Thing (Best of & Boxed set)
  24. Yes, actually most of the second disc was released with the digital boxed set. There's overlap with the 2-Disc Best of 1980-1990. The new tracks 11-14. Luminous Times (Hold On To Love) (Best of & Boxed set) Walk To The Water (Best of & Boxed set) Spanish Eyes (Best of & Boxed set) Silver And Gold (Best of & Boxed set) Sweetest Thing (Best of & Boxed set) Deep In The Heart (Boxed set) Race Against Time (Boxed set) Where The Streets Have No Name (Single edit) not on Best of or Boxed Set Silver And Gold (Sun City) only released on the Sun City charity album, if it's the B
