  1. Bono's lost notebook and suitcase from the October days was discovered in an attic in Portland in 2004. It had been stolen in 1981. There weren't full songs, just starts of lyrics and ideas. They might make it into the R&R Hall of Fame or something, but I doubt they every do anything more with them. New York Times article
  2. Here's my analysis. Overall, the October release is stronger. Lots of great live tracks. Only one new track on the War album. I would have liked to have see some live tracks included with War instead of a bunch of remixes. October [*]Gloria (Live at Hammersmith Palais, London) (new live track) [*]I Fall Down (Live at Hammersmith Palais, London) (new live track) [*]I Threw A Brick Through A Window (Live at Hammersmith Palais, London) (new live track) [*]Fire (Live at Hammersmith Palais, London) (new live track) [*]October (Live at Hammersmith Palais, London) (new live track) [*]With A
  3. .....................ah.....................no. Go to the first post in this very thread if you want a list of all of their B-Sides. Looks like that compilation ended sometime around the Mermaid Ave. discs.
  4. I put together a Pandora station based on these artists, if anyone is interested. Not too bad! I threw in Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Golden Smog, The Minus 5 and Loose Fur too for good measure. Tweedy's Favorites Radio
  5. They quit doing the printed Propaganda Magazine right after the Elevation tour, but not before I used their ticket service to score some floor tickets. They still charge for their extended/all-access on-line fan club. I've never forked over the bucks for it. They still release some exclusive items through the service. The latest was "U2 Go Home: Live from Slane Castle" in Nov. 2007 which was just the audio of the DVD of the same name. The price is certainly high for the average fan. I'll probably still buy them because my CD copies are getting ragged and dog-eared. Especially War and A
  6. It's listed on Amazon, but it appears to be the album, not the video. If I was them, which I'm obviously not, I'd release it as a CD/DVD combo. Under Blood Red Sky (Dlx) (Exp) (Spkg) [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED] I'd also release "Wide Awake in America" in conjunction with "The Unforgettable Fire" and the "The Unforgettable Fire Collection" on DVD. I still have "The Unforgettable Fire Collection" and "Under A Blood Red Sky" on VHS.
  7. Some YouTube links to unreleased/early songs Street Mission The Fool Tonight Alone in the Light Cartoon World/Jack in a Box
  8. Yeah, I'm a long time fan and I've only bought this album once, used in like 1998, so I'm not too upset. I have several of these Boy tracks already as MP3s or from the THE COMPLETE U2 (DIGITAL BOX SET). I'm rather disappointed in this track list. There's really only 2 unreleased tracks, 1 unreleased mix and 2 unreleased live tracks. I would Ihave liked to have seen more from their pre-boy demos. CD2 I Will Follow (previously unreleased mix) 11 O'Clock Tick Tock (single, also released on The Complete U2 digital box set) Touch (B-side of "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" single, also released on The Co
  9. I didn't include tracks from "Wilco related" albums. There's nothing on the list from "Down with Wilco" either Loose Fur album or any of the Golden Smog albums. Just individual rare tracks.
  10. Taking your post to the next logical step: A.M. = Bud Light Being There = Anchor Steam Summerteeth = Margarita on the rocks YHF = Diet Coke AGIB = a fine wine SBS = scotch
  11. 10 miles round trip. The wife and I even carpool!
  12. I saw them back in like 1997. Loved to see them again. Hell, I'd love to just hear new music from Ben. He hasn't released anything new since Songs for Silverman in 2005.
  13. The middle Hanson Brother (Taylor) actually has a decent, bluesy, soulful voice.
  14. There's some good info on some singles posted here: http://wilcoclub.wordpress.com/wilco-cd-singles/ Most of the site is in Spanish.

Thank you! I'd love to hear the rest of that show.
  17. I'm not familiar with the recycled nature of "impossible germany, unlikely japan". Can you fill me in?
  18. Funny stuff Hey, that's what I do! ...................maybe I'm Mikael Jorgensen?....................
  19. Wilco's Non-Album Tracks You can get it for 99 cents from Amazon or iTunes. Buy from Amazon.com. Buy from iTunes.
  20. WTF! How the hell did I pull of a 4th place finish? Can someone explain that to me? This is the only bracket I did this year and the first one I've done in maybe 3 years. I pulled most of them out of may @ss. Beginner's luck?
  21. That's my first thought too. Live in studio.
  22. What's the name of this album? EDIT: Never mind. I found it. The Johnny Cash Children's Album Real creative title!
  23. Great mix. Thanks for sharing. My 2 1/2 year old loves the Cars soundtrack and anything that I play for him over and over again. I've even heard him singing part of Whiskeytown's "Houses on the Hill" and Public Enemy's "911 is a joke". It's pretty funny hearing him singing "the fellow who broke your momma's heart" or "911 is a joke in yo town." We like some that have already been stated; They might be Giants, Farmer Jason, Justin Roberts, Curious George soundtrack. Tom Paxton is pretty good too.
  24. I don't have much problem with either of my Senators, but you can have Rep. Dan Burton. Indiana needs to get rid of the nutcase. And it wasn't just any copy of the Koran, it was Thomas Jefferson's personal copy of the Koran! http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...7010300075.html
  25. The best one i saw on the 1st was the Super Pii Pii Brothers for the Wii http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/superpiipii.html
