  1. Are the Record Club releases sold, available for download or just streaming? I could only find the streaming tracks on this web site.
  2. Added Jeff's duet of "Long Black Veil" with Roseanne Cash on her upcoming album "The List"
  3. They played Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" at my cousin's funeral, if I remember correctly. It was probably 1988 and he died young. I've heard several contemporary country songs played at funerals. Didn't do anything for me, but some of the families appreciated the songs.
  4. 1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2. Summerteeth 3. Wilco (The Album) 4. Being There 5. A Ghost Is Born 6. Sky Blue Sky 7. AM And I love AM, so this doesn't mean a whole lot!
  5. We've had similar threads before and I've always enjoyed them. I think I'd like to have mostly bluegrass/country gospel songs. Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down Will the circle be unbroken - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band I'll fly away - Alison Krauss & Gillian Welch In my time of dying - John Mellencamp or Bob Dylan I am a pilgrim - The Byrds Uncloudy Day - Michelle Shocked Down To The River To Pray - Alison Krauss Amazing Grace played on bagpipes at the grave site, followed by New Orleans style dixieland jazz funeral songs while people are leaving.
  6. Hum.....That blog lists "Thirteen" as a "Gilmore Girls" track. Can't find any info about this. Was it on a soundtrack or just played on an episode? I found that the origional Big Star version was released on "Our Little Corner of the World: Music From Gilmore Girls" Anybody know anything about this?
  7. Same here! Wasn't The Wilco Book made of of mostly dBPm material?
  8. Do you get this track immediately with pre-order or when the album is released on the 30th? (If it's immediate, I'd love to be greedy too!)
  9. Yeah, interesting choice. It is unique in that it prominently features The Edge singing the first verse. I believe "Drowning Man," "Numb" and "Van Diemen's Land" are the only songs that prominently feature Edge's singing. Could be memorable with a new arrangement.
  10. Cool, thanks! that's this weekend! Here's another link: http://www.recordstoreday.com/Home
  11. No one knows yet. My money is on a early/alternate/re- mix of "Impossible Germany." Like the "Hummingbird" mix from "The Wilco Book" CD. We'll see! Already discussed here: http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/40237-dark-neon/
  12. Very cool! If you see him again, ask him to bring Buffalo Tom back to Indiana! Saw them here in 1994.

If you don't count songs on soundtracks/compilations/charity albums, then the only track they haven't given away is "The Good Part" which is only available on the “War on War” Single. Still, i don't like this trend. Ryan Adams is really bad about it. Great song. Got to see them do it live a couple of years ago.
  14. Bill Janovitz (of Baffalo Tom and Crown Victoria) has a nice blog where he posts "covers of the week". This week is the Grateful Dead's "Brown-Eyed Woman". He give a quick Wilco shout out in the introduction. Here's the link: http://billjanovitz.blogspot.com/2009/06/cover-of-week-31.html
  15. Added "Dark Neon" and "Unlikely Japan". Still waiting to learn if "Unlikely Japan" is a unique song or an early/alternate version of "impossible Germany".

Damn it! why do bands keep doing this to me? I still like to buy the physical CD and I don't want to buy it twice to hear this song! I am then forced to rely on filesharing.
  17. Except for the fact that Mythbusters did not start airing until January 23, 2003. And yes, that show is great! Also, isn't there something in the audio commentary talking about the editing of the "puking" scene? I'll have to watch again tonight. I watched the outtake of the performance of "How to Fight Loneliness" last night. Get Jay guitar playing there!
  18. Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I didn't get a definitive answer from that thread. Here's what I took from it. Each And Every Day - Only a fragment that lasts about a minute, written by Kraig Johnson Poor Myleena - Written by Kraig Johnson, played live by the Smog at the Dec 96 shows in Minneapolis and Chicago. Winter Song - Written by Dan Murphy, played live by the Smog at the Dec 96 shows in Minneapolis and Chicago. No mention of who performs on the tracks. Were these "solo" demos or full band demos or completed, yet unreleased outtakes. This might be obvious to someone who's
  19. Thanks, CKC. Looking forward to hearing those!
  20. Tragic. I've been listening to "Palace" and his Myspace songs all morning. Does anyone have any good Jay or Jay and Ed live recordings they could post somewhere?
  21. Ditto. Still having occasional nightmares.
  22. Haven't seen this posted yet. Mikael Jorgensen interview at the The Aquarium Drunkard
  23. Maybe he thinks that The Edge from U2 now plays in Wilco.......................
