So, we've got 3 candidates left. Heartbreaking Sun and Jin death, especially so soon after their reunion. Terrible segue into the stupid commercial with the guy sitting on the dock. Where the hell were Zoe and Widmore last night? Is Desmond really still at the bottom of the well just waiting? What's his role going to be? What about Richard, Miles and Ben? I've stopped reading spoiler, except for the ABC Previews, a few weeks ago and I'm so glad I did! This week's episode was great spoiler free!

But Desmond didn't try to kill Hurley. He didn't make him have a near-dead experience. My take is that Locke will be the spoiler in the ALT. He'll try to stop the Losties from going back to the original timeline. His life is the only on that's better in the ALT, except for the fact he can't walk. Maybe Desmond was trying to course correct the universe. I have a feeling we're going to see Libby, Locke and Charlie die in the ALT soon. They're not supposed to be alive, like Charlie said in LA X.

Hummmm...interesting. I was thinking this morning that Eloise, like John Locke, has a interest in keeping the Alt timeline. In the main timeline she killed her own son. In the Alt, he's still alive. And Locke because of Helen still being with him. Locke and Helen also make me think that they might show their wedding in the Alt. This would allow the writers to bring in Anthony Cooper and Boone and Shannon. remember when Helen was talking to the wedding planner on the phone in "The Substitute"? I bet she was talking to Boone or his Mom.

i hate replying to my own thread, but one thing I wrote struck me. So, to take KevinG's list an elaborate on it: Sawyer - Juliet (Dead) Daniel - Charlotte (Dead) Hurley - Libby (Dead) Claire - Charlie (Dead) Ben - Alex (Dead) Sayid - Nadia (dead) Locke (dead) - Helen (dead) Jack - Kate (apart) Jin - Sun (apart) Desmond - Penny (apart) So, the first 5 are pretty damned similar. Their true love is dead on the island, and they are not together in the Alt. They had their love for a while, then lost them, but at least ehty were together for a while. Locke is completely different

Great, great episode. Love to see the two "timelines" finally start to meld. I love it that Desmond is that one to do this! Interesting insight. Especially with Jack and Kate. They seemed really happy together for at least part of the 3 years off-island. What about Sayid? He was with his love in the original timeline, but only for a very short time. Better to have loved and lost? As for Locke, I would argue that he has only found love in the Alt., in that Helen is still around. Maybe something will happen to her to make him lose her soon, or he becomes the antagonist in the Alt., l

Or at least back to the "birth" of Jacob and MiB. I'm going under the assumption now that the Alt is a world where Jacob never "touched" the characters/candidates. And maybe even one where either Jacob or MiB never existed. I have a feeling all the sh*t is going to hit the fan in the Alt. soon. With Sun shot, she's likely to run into Jack at the Hospital. Miles and Sawyer are likely to investigate it, plus they have Kate and Charlie in custody. Claire will go into labor at the same time. It'll be pandemonium!

I have to disagree. Kate and Sayid seem status quo to me. Sun and Jin still aren't together (in the main timeline they were somewhat estranged, in the Alt they had to sneak around.) and still fear her Father. Ben is still lonely with no real power. Jack still has daddy issue. Locke is the only one who's life seem a little better in that he doesn't hate his father and is still with Helen.

I doubt it! There's going to keep stringing us along for a few more weeks! Although with Desmond back I bet we're have better answers to the nature of the Alt. OR maybe just more questions! Well, looks like I'm going to need hernia surgery. I have an appointment with a surgeon next week. anyone every have one repaired? laparoscopic or otherwise? What was the recovery time? Any good questions you'd recommend that I should ask the surgeon? Wish me luck! It'll actually provide me with some much needed down time.

Great episode. IT still left me wondering, which side will Richard be on? Was that the same knife that Dogan gave Sayid? How/why did Jacob take the MIB's boby/humanity? Nice to see one the Hansos show up. I thought the editing at the beginning was a little choppy.
