  1. Totally agree. And I hated Pump. Permanent Vacation was the last one I could stomach.
  2. And a third: People Liked Him by Edgar A. Guest People liked him, not because He was rich or known to fame; He had never won applause As a star in any game His was not a brilliant style, His was not a forceful way, But he had a gentle smile And a kindly word to say Never arrogant or proud, On he went with manner mild; Never quarrelsome or loud, Just as simple as a child Honest, patient, brave and true: Thus he lived from day to day, Doing what he found to do In a cheerful sort of way Wasn't one to boast of gold Or belittle it with sneers, Didn't change from hot to cold, Kept his fr
  3. Another Do Not Weep For Me Author unknown Do not weep for me, for I have lived... I have joined my hand with my fellows' hands, to leave the planet better than I found it. Do not weep for me, for I have loved and been loved by my family, by those I loved who loved me back for I never knew a stranger, only friends. Do not weep for me. When you feel the ocean spray upon your face, I am there. When your heart beats faster at the dolphin's leaping grace, I am there. When you reach out to touch another's heart, as now I touch God's face, I am there. Do not weep for me. I am not gone.
  4. Here's one I'm considering. Do not stand at my grave and weep Mary Elizabeth Frye (1932) Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.
  5. So, it's looking like my father only has a few more months to live. Kidney failure coupled with Alzheimer's. My brother and Mother are planning a memorial service. I'd like to include a couple of poetry readings about life and death. Does anyone have any favorites? How about songs? There was a thread a while back about songs people wanted played at their funeral, but none of the suggestions are really appropriate for my 77 year old father. He was never really a music lover, so I don't really have any favorite songs to use. Thanks.
  6. I've downloaded there without any problems. Your mileage may vary. Still live? That's hit and miss.
  7. Which 4 are you missing? I might be able to help out.
  8. Mellencamp lives only about 20 miles from me. I used to run into him all the time. Dinner, Borders Magazine section, etc. Haven't seen him in a while. Had an embarrassing moment when his guitarist/sometimes co-producer Mike Wanchic was parked next to us at Target. I was trying to scold/corral my son when him and his wife were getting out of their car. John is an intensely private individual and as Hoosier as the Indy 500 and breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches. Check out his "Rough Harvest" album is you haven't heard anything of his since Cherry Bomb and Pink Houses. His "Trouble No More
  9. Another new song! Every Breaking Wave. We might really see another album by Christmas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9C-z-dljsY&feature=player_embedded
  10. Do we have confirmation yet that Jeff actually plays on this track and didn't just write and produce it? Link? Edit: This is from the Anti-records page. I'd still like confirmation on which songs Jeff and Pat actually play on. We'll probably have to wait until it's released.
  11. Aldi. or Government surplus. Made me wonder who was bankrolling the whole thing. Makes me wonder if Ben was tapping into those world wide Dharma networks when he was off-island in Season 5.
  12. Ryan co-wrote a song for the new Weezer album, "Hurley". The song is called "Run Away". http://pitchfork.com/news/39699-weezer-reveal-ridiculous-album-cover/ Great album cover!
  13. Anyone else see the leaked "New Man in Charge" 12 minute episode from the Season 6 DVD? I won't spoil anything, but it's good! tied up a few loose ends, brought back a much loved character, had some laughs and left things a little ambiguous as lost always does! It's out there. I found a link on twitter.

  17. I removed the emusic links as they appear to be broken. Any other single track music services out there that people use?

  19. Thanks for the link. I just updated the "Non-Album Tracks" pinned thread.
  20. Thanks for posting. Very cool. I wonder if we really see a new release sooner rather than later or if this will be for a soundtrack or something.
  21. Grace is a good song. I'm just curious what this might be used for? If it was just "All I want is You" I'd say it was for a re-release of "Rattle and Hum." Maybe a charity album?
  22. He doesn't have his twitter linked to his facebook. His twitter is pretty random. He puts most "news" on facebook. More teaser than news usually.
