  1. You say that as if Palin was not caught in any lies or misstatements during the debate.
  2. I actually think I'm happier with RichRod than I would be with Miles. Sure, Mallett probably would have stayed, but I think RichRod has more of a long term vision for the program and in about 3 years or so we'll be way better off.
  3. Biden is easier to parody than Obama, with the motormouth gaffes and the huge silly grin, but Palin is already a caricature to begin with. I thought the Lawrence Welk sketch was pretty funny.
  4. Seriously. They can only work with with the candidates give them. And that's what Palin gives them.
  5. I'm sure most of you don't care about VORP, but for what it's worth, here are the relief pitchers with a higher VORP than K-Rod this season: Mariano Rivera Scott Downs Joe Nathan Joakim Soria Brad Ziegler Hong-Chih Kuo J.P Howell Grant Balfour Brad Lidge Jim Johnson Carlos Marmol Jose Arredondo Matt Thornton Ryan Madson Ramon Ramirez Corey Wade John Grabow Jesse Carlson Chad Durbin Mike Adams Joba Chamberlain and Justin Masterston had a better VORP too, but I can't find a way to sort out just their relief appearances so I left them off the list, as I don't know how much of that came from
  6. They're thinking that the election is 29 days away and they're losing ground every day. They don't have a lot of options at this point.
  7. Another King Kaufman article full or reasons why he's the best sportswriter alive.
  8. Even in a 7 game series, there's a pretty good chance the lesser team will win. It's annoying when it's your time that comes out as the losers, but it happens to someone every year. Them's the breaks.
  9. Not believing in "clutch" does not mean you think it's all luck.
  10. How is it fear mongering to point out that, as Vice President, there's a chance that she could become President within the next 4 years? Isn't it reasonable to consider whether or not she would be a good President?
  11. For the life of me I can't figure out why, based on this description, you haven't rallied behind Obama and Biden, who match that description to a T, while McCain doesn't fit any of it.
  12. You reversed the numbers. It was Biden 46%, Palin 22%. Fourth paragraph: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/02/...in4495045.shtml Edit: Yeah, what he said.
  13. Complaints that this thread is "not very productive" are pretty laughable. What sort of productivity is anyone expecting out of it? It's a thread on a Wilco message board, not a UN meeting.
  14. Sure, it was funny, but do you really believe that bobbob didn't have that scripted ahead of time?
  15. So did the Expos, Marlins, and Mets.
  16. It is valid to know how a candidate gets his or her news. They should be getting news from a variety of sources so they can make independent judgments, and won't be subject to adopting whatever position is fed to them by those around them.
  17. What songs are they playing? Pollard solo? GBV?
  18. I think the Boston Spaceships record stinks, though Back to Business is pretty decent. Overall I'm not too keen on his more recent releases but am probably willing to check out the live show, as it will be worth it if only a third as good as GBV was back in the day.
  19. It's not just about experience, though (though experience is an important factor). It's also about they use that experience to make judgements and form their worldview, and McCain's preference for total war doesn't make as much sense to me as diplomacy does.
