I saw Wilco at Hill Auditorium a few years back. It's pretty big, bit its also supposedly acoustically perfect, so even if you don't have a great view, you should be able to hear everything just fine.

I must admit that I've had "Not Your Lover" stuck in my head for about 36 hours straight now.

As far as I can tell, there really aren't very many left. Of those Clinton supporters who are supporting McCain though, I think it's mostly sour grapes, mixed in with a few racist nutbars (see the "Inadaquate black male" crazy lady, whatever her name is). Issues-wise, it doesn't make any sense at all, as Obama is way closer to Clinton on most issues than McCain is. I suppose there may be a few who just want to see a woman win something who were swayed by Palin being added to the ticket, but I can't imagine it is very many, at least now that there have been a few weeks for people to find out

There are better restaurants in Ann Arbor, but tradition trumps all. I make a point of going to Fleetwood pretty much every time I'm in town.

Not much of a game tonight.

I would agree that the new album is more consistent, but the highlights of Wild Mountain Nation (the title track, Country Caravan, Woof & Warp, the Green King Sings) are a lot better than anything on Furr.

I think you're giving them too much credit there. The first four, I'll even say five albums, were pretty great. Night in the Ruts has a couple of okay songs but is otherwise boring. Rock in a Hard Place has one great track and the rest is somewhere between okay and absolutely terrible. Done With Mirrors is horrible from start to finish. Permanent Vacation has a couple of okay songs but a lot of garbage. Some of Pump is listenable but they're trying too hard to be either cute or clever on most of it. Personally I actually think that Get a Grip was probably their best since Draw the Line

Recently = the last 30 years?

Audience member: "Why is it that someone like my father who goes to school for 13 years gets penalized in a huge tax bracket because he's a doctor." McCain: "I think it's to some degree because we feel obviously that wealthy people can afford more." Audience member: "Are we getting closer and closer to, like, socialism?" McCain: "Here's what I really believe: That when you reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more."
-
McCain has said some things that could be interpreted as having a touch of socialism.

My pot dealer sure thinks so, and yet the government says no. -
I stand by the first four Aerosmith albums. I don't think I need to hear anything they've done since ever again though, short of maybe 3 or 4 songs.

Hands down?

Lots of states allow for early voting. I may vote early since I have nothing better to do, though I'm sort of looking forward to the excitement of voting on election day, so I may wait.

Yeah, but they might have been able to move those guys for someone who might be around for longer than one injury-ridden year and who wouldn't eat up so much salary. Francisco Cordero alone would have been worth way more than Gonzalez gave them.

Trading for Juan Gonzalez was probably the largest factor (among many) in the Tigers being so terrible in 2003. It left them completely depleted.

Just because the same party controls Congress and the White House does not automatically mean that Congress will not provide the necessary checks and balances. Sure, when the Republicans were in charge from 2001-2006, they did whatever Bush wanted, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Democrats will let their own guy get away with as much. Now, I'm not saying they will provide those checks. I just think that if they don't, it won't be because Obama is a Democrat -- after all, the Democrats in Congress have pretty much kowtowed to whatever Bush wants, too.

They're not.

Pretty sure Radiohead would not be on board for that. Just sayin'.

I may just sleep all day on November 5th, but point taken.

If no one is allowed to post anything that's been posted before, then we may as well just close this thread up now, eh?
