  1. I actually liked that 7 Mary 3 song, but "What's Up" is possibly the worst song I've ever heard. Just thinking about it makes my ears cry.
  2. Granderson is going to be back in the next day or two, thank god.
  3. They're a lot easier to find than reliable starters. Edit: What Jorge said.
  4. I love the guitar in that song, but Dougie Y.'s vocals are a little bland. Better than on "New Age" though.
  5. "Brimful of Asha" by Cornershop The first time I heard it was a revelation. Before that I never realized that everybody does need a bosom for a pillow.
  6. Yeah, but they're not going to get to the 7th as often if they have shitty starting pitching.
  7. For Squirrels - "Mighty K.C." Smoking Popes - "Need You Around" The Rentals - "Friends of P." Juliana Hatfield - "Universal Heartbeat" Toadies - "Possum Kingdom" (but also "I Come From the Water", "Away", etc.) Folk Implosion - "Natural One" Tripping Daisy - "I Got a Girl"
  8. I can understand easing him into it so as not to blow out his arm too early in his career, but yeah, if you have a great pitcher, don't you wanting him pitching the most innings possible?
  9. Yeah, punk is defined rather differently amongst different groups. But not as broadly as cool. I don't know, I just figured you had something in mind when you used that word. I guess not.
  10. I love the Clash too, but I wasn't criticizing his dislike. I was just trying to figure out what he meant.
  11. I got that you don't like them, I was just wondering what made them less "punk" than ZZ Top. Or Jethro Tull.
  12. Pink Floyd is the most boring band in history. More good bands came out of the '90s than the '60s. The best song of the '90s is "Mighty K.C." by For Squirrels. If Aerosmith had called it quits after Draw the Line, they would be as highly thought of as Zeppelin. Zeppelin was great, but enough already. I've heard them as much as I ever need to hear them. One Hot Minute is better than Mother's Milk and Freaky Styley. The work he's done with Wilco is the most boring stuff that Nels Cline has done. "Sex Bomb" by Flipper is one of the best songs of the '80s. Gorillaz and The Good,
  13. Yeah, though he was slumping, the reason he was cut was because he complained about being benched, and the reason he was benched wasn't because of his slumping, it was so he wouldn't have enough at bats this year to trigger the clause in his contract automatically renewing him for $10mill next year.
  14. What about the the rest of their catalogue? Or are they a no based on those 3 songs alone?
  15. Obama served on a 10 person board with Ayers and met him at a couple of local political events. I'm far more suspicious of John McCain's associations with people responsible for a lot more violence and death than Ayers is (such as our dear President). I'm not by any means defending anything Ayers did in his Weather Underground days, but he seems pretty harmless nowadays and Obama's connection with him is pretty flimsy.
  16. My girlfriend heard the windows rattle. I slept right through it.
  17. Tugmoose, why do you hate America?
  18. Miguel Tejada is two years older than previously thought
  19. Yankees/Red Sox is interesting because it's two good teams competing in the same division. But they aren't any more interesting to me than any other similar matchup. Braves vs. Mets is just as interesting to me.
  20. Clearly he's referring the Tigers. Jim Leyland managed them to 12 runs so far tonight.
  21. "Five on the Five" should have been the single.
  22. One more and we've got ourselves a winning streak!
