  1. As an A's fan, I am now accepting donations of liquor, meds, chocolate, and objects that will not leave dents in my walls when thrown across the room.
  2. I walked down to the ocean After waking from a nightmare No moon, no pale reflection Black mirror, black mirror Shot by a security camera You can't watch your own image And also look yourself in the eye Black mirror, black mirror, black mirror I know a time is coming All words will lose their meaning Please show me something that isn't mine But mine is the only kind that I relate to Le miroir casse The mirror casts mon reflet partour Black mirror, black mirror, black mirror The black mirror knows no reflection It knows not pride or vanity It cares not about your dreams It cares not for y
  3. Yes, the title of this thread made me giggle.
  4. Mine have always been shipped in tubes.
  5. I am so ready for real baseball again.
  6. 3/4/05 Probably my favorite show I've ever been too.
  7. I feel ya, man. I drove four hours (shoulda been three, but traffic was awful), only to have to turn around and go right back home.
  8. I am really pumped about this: Fox always cancels the good ones.
  9. Man, the A's have been painful to watch lately. I actually stopped watching Friday's game and switched to MLB Audio because I think I would have cried if I'd seen Marco Scutaro make another error.
  10. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to go with a new stereo; I just need to figure out how much I'm willing to spend. I overheard a funny conversation in Best Buy while I was checking out some stereos. Best Buy guy to customer: Are you looking for something you can hook your iPod up to? Customer: What does the iPod do?
  11. I've always used an FM transmitter to listen to my iPod in my car. It broke a few days ago, but I've decided not to get another one. (It worked fairly well, but I never could get a completely static-free connection, and it was a pain on road trips.) So... how do you guys listen to your iPod in your car? Has anyone had an iPod-compatible stereo installed? Any suggestions are appreciated.
  12. This was my fifth Ryan show. I was pumped for it, and (for the most part) the guys did not disappoint. The show was supposed to start at 9 (there was no opener ). The lights were down and the house music had stopped, but there was no band. 9:05ish: The house music started again, and I started to worry. For the next 20 minutes or so, the crew brought out set lists, fiddled with stuff onstage, etc., and one guy kept shooting nervous glances backstage. But at 9:25 the band came out... ... and rocked. Although I'd heard most of these songs at previous shows, every single number was fresh. A l
  13. Agreed, especially on Halloweenhead. It's not a musical revelation or anything, but damn is it fun and catchy. (And amazingly it's been almost 12 hours since I've listened to it.)
  14. I was at this game. That's 21/2 hours of my life I'll never get back. But at least I got to cross Shea off my list of stadiums to see.
  15. I know the feeling. I'm having major post-concert happiness. And with the rain and all, it was a perfect night to hear them.
  16. The new subtitle of this thread made me laugh. Those implosions are like clockwork. I'm not even an O's fan (I live in the area), and it's still brutal. And that the Angels start losing a little bit more...
  17. Sweet, sweet nectar of the gods, how I have missed you.
  18. That is pretty cool. I, for one, was feeling greedy. I managed to watch/listen to that whole game -- except for Shannon Stewart's hit. He came up to bat as I was going in the Fort McHenry Tunnel, and I lost the my XM signal. Go figure.
  19. Confirming the fact that I'm a huge dork: I'm so going to see this exhibition if I can get the day off to go to the Hammerstein show.
  20. The staffing situation at major papers isn't that great. Cuts are being made across the country (the paper this review came from is about to cut 25 percent of its newsroom staff). My previous paper has had a hiring freeze in effect for four years. Even though people had steadily trickled out and their jobs hadn't been filled, there was still a round of buyouts and a round of layoffs during that time. We're kind of in the same boat at my new job. Under those circumstances, you would be surprised at what people have to do (or not do) to get the paper out.
  21. That Dan Haren guy is doing OK so far.
  22. I have no idea what you are talking about.
  23. If it's this, you could try e-mailing info@voltagedesignlab.com to see if they have any available.
