  1. They used to tell me I was building a dream, and so I followed the mob, When there was earth to plow, or guns to bear, I was always there right on the job. They used to tell me I was building a dream, with peace and glory ahead, Why should I be standing in line, just waiting for bread? Once I built a railroad, I made it run, made it race against time. Once I built a railroad; now it's done. Brother, can you spare a dime? Once I built a tower, up to the sun, brick, and rivet, and lime; Once I built a tower, now it's done. Brother, can you spare a dime? Once in khaki suits, gee we look

  3. Maybe I was totally unaware, but this is the first I read about this meeting. Not really sure if it will have any affect, but it is nice to note that there is a voice of reason being expressed. U.S. religious leaders meet with Iran's president, stress diplomacy By Catholic News Service NEW YORK (CNS) -- U.S. religious leaders are "deeply concerned about the prospect of war with Iran," said a professor from a Catholic college who was part of an interfaith delegation that met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sept. 26 in New York. But Joseph Fahey, professor of religious

  5. I was thinking of a series of dreams Where nothing comes up to the top Everything stays down where it's wounded And comes to a permanent stop Wasn't thinking of anything specific Like in a dream, when someone wakes up and screams Nothing too very scientific Just thinking of a series of dreams Thinking of a series of dreams Where the time and the tempo fly And there's no exit in any direction 'Cept the one that you can't see with your eyes Wasn't making any great connection Wasn't falling for any intricate scheme Nothing that would pass inspection Just thinking of a series of dreams Dreams

  8. Ahhh...the arrogance of youth. Allow people the space do believe, listen to, eat, screw, worship, read what they will. It won't diminish you to accept that people are different from you.
  9. I had the shit till it all got smoked I kept the promise till the vow got broke I had to drink from the lovin' cup I stood on the banks till the river rose up I saw the bride in her wedding gown I was in the house when the house burned down I may be old and I may be bent But I had the money till it all got spent I had the money till they made me pay Then I had the sense to be on my way I had to stay in the underground I was in the house when the house burned down I was in the house when the house burned down I met the man with the thorny crown I helped Him carry his cross thr

  11. This entire campaing season from the first caucus to right now has been ridiculously rich in political drama.
  12. And think about it rationally. The UNITED STATES ARMY announces in its official publication the forthcoming coup attempt?! People...take a xanax and kick back.
  13. Actually, as I followed the header, I perceived this to be a "Dave is grumpy" statement.
  14. Saw it...laughed out loud...and never lost count
  15. Being wealthy is not a crime in America. When I was in Grad school, there was a seminar that dealt with the merits of public service by people who either were scions of the wealthy or were wealthy themselves. In a crass sense, it can be argued that it is harder to bribe a wealthy man than it is a poor man. I fall more into the line of thinking that to those whom much has been given, much is expected. Those on the list who earned their money by 'the sweat of their brow' (so to speak) and are in public service to give back to their country should be lauded, not looked on with suspicion. But
  16. My mind is clearer now At last All too well I can see Where we all Soon will be If you strip away The myth From the man You will see Where we all Soon will be Jesus! You've started to believe The things they say of you You really do believe This talk of God is true And all the good you've done Will soon be swept away You've begun to matter more Than the things you say Listen Jesus I don't like what I see All I ask is that you listen to me And remember I've been your right hand man all along You have set them all on fire They think they've found the new Messiah And they'll hurt you when t

The speculators made their money On the blood you shed Your Mama's pulled the sheets up off your bed The profiteers on Jane Street Sold your shoes and clothes Ain't nobody talking 'cause everybody knows We pulled your cycle out of the garage And polished up the chrome Our Gypsy biker's comin' home Sister Mary sits with your colors Brother John is drunk and gone This whole town's been rousted Which side are you on The favored march up over the hill In some fools parade Shoutin' victory for the righteous But there ain't much here but graves Ain't nobody talkin' We're just waitin' on the ph
