Being wealthy is not a crime in America. When I was in Grad school, there was a seminar that dealt with the merits of public service by people who either were scions of the wealthy or were wealthy themselves. In a crass sense, it can be argued that it is harder to bribe a wealthy man than it is a poor man. I fall more into the line of thinking that to those whom much has been given, much is expected.
