  1. Nice one on the Freakwater and Teenage Fanclub there. I must get a hold of that Roky album myself. As for now:
  2. Props to Hamell On Trial. Love his stuff and live he is even better. A band from Southend garnering a lot of hype for their second album, These New Puritans. Great record, breakbeats, electronica and the spirit of Echo and The Bunnymen having tea with John Foxx.
  3. Thanks for the reply. I waded through the Gutenburg stuff and picked out a few things. Eucalyptus I never heard of, will check that on.
  4. Anyone using their iPhone as a reader for e-books? I must say it is a handy little thing for work especially rather than dragging a few books in and out all the time. Does anyone know of a decent torrent site for e-books?
  5. The sooner that Dohery gimp gets sent to Broadmoor for a long, anally painful, stretch the better. Fucking abysmal band and the fawning over him as some great British poetic genius is just laughable.
  6. I've been playing their last two albums a fair bit recently after not going near them for some time. Very enjoyable even amid the MMJ comparisons and solace is right, they always have gorgeous artwork.
  7. True and true. Was great up to when the Connors won the lottery and then it just fell apart.
  8. I am looking forward to this as well. Given the pedigree with the writing, this could be another winner from HBO.
  9. Pity United couldn't have equalised today. We left it bloody late ourselves but better late than never. Such a injury blighted season though.
  10. French bred! French bread!
  11. It's like complaining about the banks. No one listens anymore. So what are they trying to flog now? Must be time for a down payment on Larry's huge arsehole of a house in Dalkey.
  12. Can you imagine if they started playing Mwng on shit kicker AM radio?
  13. If you are using Firefox as a browser you can get a little plug in that sits at the top of the browser that lets you capture embedded video from the likes of YouTube and other *ahem* nefarious sites. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006
  14. One after another to celebrate getting tickets to see them and Grizzly Bear live in Cork in June. WOO and T!!!
  15. Maybe and some days I would agree with you. The seeds for Parklife's huge success were sown here though.
  16. Well, there is the view that you don't have to beat the other big teams to win the title and that you have to beat the other "smaller" teams but I remember winning the title at Old Trafford. I wince when we go up against the other "big four" teams now because we never seem to be at the races. Still, it's been a decent season apart from losing RVP and Ramsey.
  17. Just as we were discussing it in another thread.
  18. I really got into Blur with the release of their second album Modern Life Is Rubbish. Wonderful snapshot of British life. Music which went against the grain of the whole grunge scene which had heralded the arrival of so many sub standard bands. Of course, this album and Parklife went on to spawn the BritPop movement which did the exact same thing in spawning such twaddle as Menswear, Echobelly and the like.
  19. Love the whole mythology of it. Music is pretty damn fine too. I loved Blur a whole lot for a while there. From Modern Life Is Rubbish, Parklife, parts of The Great Escape up to Think Tank which didn't do much for me. The new Gorillaz album sounds good too on first listen.
  20. Also Sevilla going out to the Russians. Big upset there. We don't really deserve the title but if we stumbled our way to it I wouldn't complain.
  21. I would have taken Beckham in the squad if he was fit. He could have been a decent impact sub in tight games. Come on the Gooners...man, if the title fell into our laps this time I would be chuffed to bits!
  22. Really looking forward to seeing this when it starts here next week. I knew I recognised the name Sledge and I finally copped it. His words and descriptions were an integral part of the fantastic WW II epic series by Ken Burns called The War. Check that out if you haven't seen it yet.
  23. Big "yea" from me. A stunning album. The previous one was good but this one is just fantastic.
  24. The new Pavement collection which is pretty fine.
  25. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. You've obviously never met an Irishman.
