No offense, but this makes absolutely no sense. The auto industry is primarily a component of a manufacturing oriented economy, not a service oriented economy. How the collapse of the auto industry will make for a healthier economy is beyond my comprehension. Unless of course you mean we will all be healthier because we will have to walk and/or bike everywhere.

How are you cutting corners this holiday season?

I told my family that my Christmas gift budget this year was going to be used to buy presents for an under-privilaged child in the local school district. My niece and nephews have too much stuff as it is. -
Barkley calls out Auburn on not hiring Gill. I guess the Auburn Alumni Association can take Sir Charles off the list of potential donors for the time being.
-
Someone on ESPN's Outside the Lines show this morning said that the reason Auburn didn't hire Turner Gill is because he is married to a white woman. The guy who made this statement on the show is a espn.com writer and did not name the source, so take that reason for what it's worth.

McGuffie is leaving Michigan. I'm sorry to see him go, as I thought he would have more and more success as time went on and Michigan's offense develops under RichRod. Hopefully he ends up having good career (as long as it is not against Michigan) and no more concusions.

It's funny that the only non-New Year's Day bowl game that I want to watch is being televised on the network no one without a dish gets - Western Michigan v Rice in the Texas Bowl is on the NFL-N for some dumb reason. Like I said before in this thread, Sept 5 can't get here soon enough. Go Blue!!!

Oh please, give me a break. Shelby has a vested interest in this as Alabama has increasingly had more and more investment in auto manufacturing by foreign name plates. He and the other southern senators who have been the most vocal opponents of the bailout have no qualms about busting the Big 3 and the resulting consequences to the UAW.

Just finished listening to Trace for the first time in about 2 years. Damn that's a fine collection of music.

I just started Confederates in the Attic which is something I've been meaning to read for a long time. I can't believe that this book came out 10 years ago. Up next will be Finally, I am getting close to the end of my Books-to-Read list. How do you decide on your next book?

Isn't this the reason we all root so hard for are chosen team?

Michigan needs to keep scheduling the #4 team in the country. Go Blue!!!

US FEDERAL RESERVE to buy US DEBT? WITH WHAT?

That pic of Romo's girlfriend just might change my mind about a flag-desecration amendment. If it had passed, she would have been standing in that field topless. -
There is one sure fire way to improve The Office - More Mose!!!! When he brained Andy with the pumpkin last night I actually laughed out loud.

Fixed it for you.

The last time we took one of your Head Coach's minions, we came out all right.
-
This is all part of the Sweater Vest's plan to spread his minions all across the upper Midwest to torment the Champions of the West. But RichRod will turn it around sooner rather than later and the Victors Valiant shall have the last laugh.

It is probably not a coincidence that Kelly made the statement about staying at Cinci around the time it was learned that ND was not going to fire Fat Charlie. Kelly would have been the perfect hire for the Irish. If Auburn calls, Kelly is packing his bags. However, does Auburn have any interest? His is not one of the names that I saw on the list of coaches AU is looking at. Sept. 5 can't get here fast enough. Go Blue!!!

They wouldn't have to pull the showing up in regular car stunt if some dumb-ass congressman hadn't pulled the fly down in corporate jets hissy fit last month. The fact that every interview I have heard from Wagoner and Mulally ends with some interviewer bringing up this red herring infuriates me. The problems facing the Big 3 are serious, and the fact that these corporations use private jets for their top executives (like most other Fortune 200 companies) has such a miniscule impact on their bottom lines.

Obviously if you have giant lines of blow you need a giant straw. Where do you live and will you come to my house and shovel?
-
Thank goodness he is sticking around. I predict that Michigan will beat ND on Sept. 12, 2009. And since my team is not in any bowl this year Go Blue!!! Beat Western!!!! on 9/5/09

If I was going to any of these shows knowing that Wilco was only going to get a 45-50 min set opening for Neil F'n Young, my hope would be no between-song banter and Maximum Rock-n-Roll.

I am admittedly biased (member of the State Bar of Michigan) but I would recommend that you consult with an attorney for the preperation of your estate plan. While Legalzoom and other online legal document prep sites claim that they can prepare your documents in full compliance with your state's statutes, they cannont provide you with the personalized attention that a qualified attorney specializing in estate planning can provide. Each and every family has unique circumstances. An attorney who specializes in estate planning will have the knowledge and experience to assist you in creating an

Is anyone watching the Tech-UGA game? Damn, Paul Johnson got the Yellow Jackets fired up at halftime. UGA cannot stop that triple-option attack.

I know you said you want current pics, but if you look closely at my new avatar, you will see a bunch of skinny kids by the lake. This is a pic of me and my cousins taken approx 35 years ago. You will notice nary a female in that pic. You could say that family get togethers were somewhat like Lord of the Flies.
