  1. You are right. Maybe some earlier George when it was just the four in the studio. Don't Bother Me for and early pick and I Need You for a mid era pick.
  2. If I had the chance to be present it would be interesting to see how John and Paul worked with George. It would be great to see Geoge Martin and George Harrison conduct the others. George's songs were some of their finest gems. John and Paul had to help polish them too.
  3. I Want to Tell You Love You To Within Without You Its All Too Much For You Blue
  4. Go Jeff! Snag that Grammy! How about a project with Cass McCombs and/or Andrew Bird?
  5. Brent Mydland Garth Hudson Merl Saunders Melvin Seals and that guy behind Nels and Jeff next to Glen at the back of the stage. Leroy Bach too when he's playing keyboard
  6. 7 song set with encore. Please. One Sunday Morning -> Poor Places -> Art of Almost -> Via Chicago -> How to Fight Loneliness -> Not For the Seasons -> Late Greats encore: Casino Queen -> Outtasite -> Hoodoo Voodoo I'd walk out smiling after that.
  7. The full band arrangement is best. I just play along with the album version or a live band version (Kicking T.V.) Its a test to see how far into the sonic drone I can go.
  8. What makes those chord progressions interesting to you ? I just started playing guitar - so I'm curious and like the interest of others. So far the simplisty of Handshake Drugs I find to be very entertaining. I just picked up Poor Places this weekend and that song is very enjoyable to play. (all studio versions) Also Alone (Skakin Sugar) and Sky Blue Sky. You are My Face is a little troubling still.
  9. Dreams Come True Girl Thats That Harmonia There Can Only Be One
  10. Jump ahead and watch "Live in London" and then go back to the begining. The performance of "Live in London" should be enough to hook you.
  11. I have just pick up a few songs from youtube. I will buy the new album. I think he is a talent that is on the edge of breaking out. I believe the new album is dedicated to the memory of Karen Black (R.I.P.) If you get a chance - his redition of Dupree's Diamond Blues from Move Me Brightly was right on! Just saw him live last night at The Echo in L.A. Good show. He rocked us good. Tickets were only $13. I would pay more for a longer set. The break down was a dollar a song.

    Wilco Poll

Wilco is the salt and pepper of my musical diet. They are always on the table.
  13. Recent discovery. Very pleased with the sound, voice and talent. As he ever sat in with Tweedy or Wilco or visa versa. I know Andrew Bird has sat in. New release - Big Wheels and Others Care to share thoughts or comments?
  14. Don't forget he smoked Camel unfiltered too. I'm sure that was not a 2-3 smokes a day habit. That does not leave a smooth velvety coating on the throat.
  15. I knew of Jerry's view on the Doors and Jim Morrison. I did realize it was so harsh. Aside from the Blues connection I don't see a comparision between the bands. Its like comparing San Fransico to Los Angeles. The only connection they have is California.
  16. Here is a little gem a friend passed on > Jerry, Mickey, Santana and Friends. Feb 1987 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmN0mFHDH2w
  17. Thank you! Thank you! That was great! Nice way to end Jerry week.
  18. I'd admit that about Jay. He added a nice flavor to Wilco back then.
  19. How stoned? I did not see the rules of engagement. Are we talking "one toke over the line" or drooling from the eyes after a session with Master Cylinder. I would have thought that Sgt Pepper's would have made the top 40 or at least a Neil Young album? (Everybody Knows This Nowhere?)
  20. I wish I was your Mother I wish I was your Father I wish I had been your sister
  21. Joe had it going on. What a driving force - steering the music where it needed to go. Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros sure put out some good music too. Nice second coming of Joe. Wish it could have lasted longer. Thanks for the visit Joe.
