  1. I agree. Nels's best contribution to Wilco is his playing on songs that are not as genre-specific. Ashes, for instance. Because of this, I'd like to hear a more collaborative Wilco. I'm sure it's collaborative to some degree, but in the end, it's obvious that it's VERY much Tweedy's band.
  2. Nels's rate of perfection is probably in line with any other guitarist who has ever played in Wilco.
  3. Bummer. I was hoping I'd get to see them at some point. But good for them for having the guts to end it.
  4. Just to be clear, I was referring to Jackson Browne. I have no problem with Warren. On second thought, maybe he's not overrated, per se. Maybe I should have said "Of all the respected music artists, Jackson Browne is the shittiest."
  5. Always a bad thing. Most overrated musician ever.
  6. Most bands need that. Especially a band that is established and comfortable and is showing signs that it's on a downward creative slide.
  7. Five stars. I've never been a big fan of Bela Fleck, but the music in this thing is absolutely dazzling.
  8. Me too, there's no point in them hiring a producer. It'd cost them a lot of money, it'd probably not result in increased sales, and probably wouldn't result in a significantly different album than what they'd come up with on their own.
  9. I just hope they don't use T-Bone Burnett.
  10. The Stonehenge thing was good. Nice work!
  11. I've heard and read a lot of negative things about Behr over the years. I've painted at least 12 rooms rooms with Behr paint and I've never had a problem with it. Home Depot also sells Glidden, and some other brands.
  12. No problem. One more thing...it's generally considered best to work from the top down.
  13. I think matching sheens is a good idea. It's ok to use different sheens on walls vs. trim, but all the walls in the room will probably look best if you go with the same sheen. I have never primed an already painted wall before, and the results have been good. Maybe not professional quiality, but perfectly nice looking. Having said that, if you spackle or patch anything, you'll get better results if you sand and prime those areas before painting. Also, if you have any water stains, you'll want to use an appropriate primer. Kilz is the standard water stain primer/blocker. Unless
  14. I didn't even know this was on the air yet. I've seen no advertisement for it at all. Usually I can't escape it. Steven Tyler definitely knows his shit, and is an entertaining guy, so I was actually hoping to see some of this season.
  15. True. If only it weren't for the Sting solo album on side two of Synchronicity.
  16. I have the head and cabinet version of this. It's a wonderful thing. The combo version would definitely be more economical and easier to transport, and probably sound pretty much the same as the head/cab version.
  17. And Little Creatures. Definitely not a great album.
  18. I might put Faces on the list, but I've never heard First Step.
  19. It's not obsolete at all, and often, solid state is considered kinda lame (especially amongst electric guitarists). Go to Best Buy, Sears, Wal Mart, or any other store selling stereo equipment and check out their stereo amps/receivers. They're all solid state.
  20. Seconded. Easily their strongest musical statement.
  21. I don't see why not. It is part of their career.
  22. That;s a good point. I'll bet a lot of those tunes would have wound up on solo albums.
  23. The one that's not the title track.
