rofl. exactly. A coworker/huge Kiss fan asked me to fix his Paul Stanley model Silvertone a couple years ago. When it was fixed I had to carry it through downtown Atlanta to bring it back to him. There is no case for this guitar, and it wouldn't fit into my gig bag, so I couldn't hide it. I made a point of getting to work super early so there'd be as few people as possible around to see me carrying this guitar. I probably shouldn't care about such things, but just look at the thing.

Me too. The best Dead show I ever saw was in Ohio (1994, I think) when Weir left the stage ten minutes before the end of the first set and the rest of the guys played a great improv without him.
-
No. Looks matter. I wouldn't own a lime green pointy headstock guitar with zebra stripes no matter how it sounded and felt.

A puss filled, infected pimple on Abbey Road's otherwise perfect face.

I saw these guys open for Primus in 1991.

I think John is on record saying that is the worst song the Beatles ever did. I'll try to find a link, but if he did say that, then that is probably the main reason for the hate.

Good to know. I had not seen this thread until now, but I was going to tell you that the Guitar Player book on Guitar Repair considers Naptha (lighter fluid) to be THE all purpose cleaning agent for guitars. I probably would have used a small amount of Goo Gone since that's what I have at the house.

As much as I'd like to think I have a good memory, I actually read that thread a two or three weeks ago when I was considering doing a similar project. "5 coats of Ocean Sea Breeze Blue Krylon from Walmart." I wish you could still see the photos on that thread.
-
Maybe it was him. Someone on here used Wal Mart spray paint, and their project came out beautifully. I'll see if I can find the old thread.

I'm a little disappointed that this thread hasn't been more active. A couple years ago a poster (can't remember who it was...is he still around?) showed us his Telecasters that he stripped, refinished and reliced, and walked us through the entire process. It was some really amazing work. I'd love to hear how those guitars are holdign up, and if any more projects have come along.

John Herndon. That guy is an incredible drummer.

Yeah, that was on In Concert. I have that one, too. Dwight Yoakum's on it doing Truckin. I don't remember if it's the same episode as the Dead, though.
-
I remember that, and I have it on VHS, too. I have a bunch of In Concert on VHS, actually. Dead, Lenny Kravitz, Tin Machine, etc.

A one-legged paralympian lit it last night on The Biggest Loser.

I wouldn't go anywhere near any of these festivals...I'm too old and I sunburn way too easily. But, since Tinariwen and Jeff Beck are on the bill, hopefully they'll come through Atlanta.

In that case...

I was not aware of that. I think it'll be country because it's been rock/pop/prince for the last several years. I don't see them putting up another rock band next year. They're due for a country or R&B act. Or perhaps something along the lines of the Jonas Brothers, or something. I'll be surprised if next year's show is someone I care to see.
-
I have no idea what you mean.
-
2011 half time will be a country act.

I've only seen Yes once. I saw the Union tour, which was a disgraceful shambles, if you believe Bill Bruford. I hope I get a chance to see them, preferably with Anderson and (not Oliver) Wakeman.
-
Some say Jeff Beck is beter than ever. I haven't heard any of his recent albums, so I can't vouch. Incidentally, he's about to tour the US again, so I'll finally get to see him.

I missed that part, but I did see the rabbit cheerleaders. The water bowl cam was too cute.
