  1. First Brakes news (thanks B!), now Doves--2009 is going to be great for so many reasons.
  2. It's almost impossible to express how much GLB's first two albums changed my listening habits, but I'm glad they did. For that, they'll always have a place in my music collection.

  9. Andy Taylor - Duran Duran Andrew Ridgeley - Wham Bwahahaha.
  10. Oddly, it was the second time I heard "What's So Funny" performed over the weekend. If I had made it to the Ry Cooder/Jim Keltner/Nick Lowe benefit shows, that number would've doubled, I think. Very phangirl comment, but what the hell? Elvis's young twins were dancing and air drumming at the side of the stage for most of his set. Cutest. Things. Ever.
  11. Well, the map and the schedule are printed, but I reserve the right to stay at home all weekend and play Rock Band.
  12. What are the odds Josh Groban will reprise his TV-theme-song medley from the Emmys?
  13. The lineup: Saturday Neil Young Pegi Young ZZ Top Nora Jones Jack Johnson Death Cab for Cutie Wilco Cat Power Sunday Neil Young Pegi Young Smashing Pumpkins Nora Jones Jack Johnson Death Cab for Cutie Wilco Cat Power Josh Groban
  14. You can listen to some of the new songs on their MySpace page. (I'm looking forward to it too.)
  15. It's hard to say anything bad about a festival taking place five blocks from your flat, especially if it includes your favorite band, even more good music, lots of yummy food, and -- finally -- some sun. Throw in a houseful of good friends, and you pretty much have an amazing weekend. In addition to the appreciative audience (even if our "Spiders" claps went down in flames in record time), the badge holders really came out for Wilco, settling down in front of the barrier and along the sides of the stage, where they sang along and danced about -- while remaining very respectful for us regula
