  1. Don't worry about it, Rob. In the words of Matthew McConnaughey: Just keep living.
  2. I apologize to everyone who had to endure the Split Enz rock block--you truly are the sweetest, most understanding friends ever! Many people have already posted my exact sentiments, but as always, it was wonderful to see so many wonderful people under one roof. Thanks for all the laughter, the singing, the chit chat, and the soft-serve suggestions. Did anyone carry off the lambic/ice cream combo? xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
  3. Hmmm... Thanks for the dates!
  4. Not much to add to Maudie's extensive and informative review, but I wanted to say that the music and the shows comprised the heart of the movie. Don't expect too much backstage footage or even exhaustive interviews. Instead, the film crew seemed to focus the performances, with little mind to "hit" singles. "Impossible Germany" and "You Are My Face" were the highlights for me; there were a couple of shots that I could only dream of catching on camera myself. The interviews were scored by more song snippets, including the horns-laden "Pieholden Suite" and a bit of "Why Would You Wanna Live." N
  5. Loved seeing Dudez A Plenti again--that's probably my favorite non-Andy-Richter-associated skit. (Staring contests!)
  6. Re: Yuuguu--we use Mac and PCs, and it seems to do fine on either. My experience with it has been very passive (sign in, let others drive), but the people who do this often seem to approve. I think many of our IT folks have switched to it for meetings.
  7. Sounds like you have some decent options lined up, but I'll pipe in: A number of people at my work have been using Yuuguu. I haven't tangled with it much, but I've seen it in action, and it gets the thumbs-up over Microsoft.
  8. Though there's no logical reason to feel this way, but all of a sudden I'm horribly proud of my collection of vintage Smiths vinyl (even if that one pressing of Barbarism Begins at Home has eluded me all this time).
  9. It's being screened at the Noise Pop festival in San Francisco on March 1.
  10. I was already grinning like a madwoman listening to the recording of it, but this clip really upped the giddiness. Thanks!
  11. The setlist: --Exiled --Suspended Head --Thurston County --Build --Cause for Concern --Blues, Two --The Angel of Angels --He Still Carries a Torch for Her --Song for Che --Attempted --Something About David H. [with Jon Brion] --Cymbidium Nels, Scott, and Devin played one long, intense set tonight in the big room at Largo. Some highlights for me: "The Angel of Angels," a sober, piercing elegy; "He Still Carries a Torch for Her," which concluded with Nels sitting on his haunches and holding a creepy doll to his guitar strings, while the doll simulated playing a stringed instrument, propelled
  12. Accompanying video from that Line of Best Fit cabal. Did Homer Simpson direct the clip?
  13. I'm looking forward to Primal Scream's return.
  14. Oops, I see the problem now--disregard the previous post!
  15. It sounds like (at least) one track might've been cut off? Johnny Marr introduces it, but then--end of the recording. I'm guessing it's the one he and Jeff co-wrote.
  16. Oh my, this is a wonderful recording. and
  17. Awesome! It reminds me of another rendition of "I Got You" from a few years ago, though Neil and Jeff's version probably sounded better.
  18. That gives me heart palpitations. Can't wait to read/hear more.
  19. Most of the Wrens' Meadowlands, but "Happy" for sure. Oh jeez, I need to put that on right now.
  20. I loved this! Face to Face, "10-9-8" I don't know what jogged this memory, but of course, I had to find it on YouTube. The video was definitely .. of a time. Watching it now, all I can see is Stephen Colbert's video for "Charlene."
  21. I use it for work and despite the occasional crash, it comes through just fine. Of course, when it gives me problems, I just hand the MacBook to the tech guy, but yeah, it's a seamless UI.
  22. I'm going to go crazy with jealousy if, for some reason, Jack McBrayer shows up: "It
  23. Then don't read the comments on that New York Times story. I had no idea that people could be so passionate about him.
  24. I gotta find someone with a Blu-ray player.
