  1. I'll say this. If I can't make jokes about the dude, or be allowed to read jokes about the dude on the Internet, I ain't voting for him.
  2. I don't know quite what to make of this. There is apparently a column by Joel Stein in the LA Times about how to make fun of Barack Obama. I clicked on it, and all I got was a blank page. Anyway, here's a blip from the N.Y. Times blip about the L.A. Times thing which we apparently cannot read. When I called
  3. Good piece about Steinbrenner and Winfield. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/18/sports/b...html?ref=sports
  4. Me too! Happy anniversary!
  5. As I reported in a story a year or so ago, it was Mays, according to noted baseball writer, historian and chief consultant to Ken Burns for the Baseball thing, John Thorn.
  6. Vibes to Jules and Stewartses.
  7. Hope it was good, dude! Did you get a dookie rope?
  8. Ichiro had a funny quote about Fukudome. NEW YORK - Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki and the Cubs' Kosuke Fukudome are the only Japanese All-Stars this year. And though Suzuki saw Fukudome in spring training, he hasn't kept up with the Cubs outfielder's progress. "I'm sorry to tell you this, but it's been a really tough season for me as an individual and as a team, so I haven't had enough time in my heart to be able to watch other players during the season, especially because he's in another league," Suzuki said through an interpreter. "To be honest, I don't know how he's doing at all in the Na
  9. Skyflynn, I accept your apology, pending the receipt of your cover version of H
  10. Actually, it was that dance that did it. I will also point out that nothing could be less relevant than my personal opinion of Jonathan Papelbon.
  11. I would try to backpedal too if it dawned on me that I was dissing the greatest closer of all time in regards to the All-Star game in the final year of Yankee Stadium. In interviews, it's usually the first thing someone says that's the truth, not the rather theatric, lame denials which followed.
  12. Wow. I had no idea Papelbon was such an ungenerous, egotistical douche. (Well, there was that suspect little dance he did after those games.) Thank you, New York Daily News!
  13. From CNN: According to historical accounts of the murder, Atkins stabbed Tate, who was eight months pregnant, and scrawled the word "pig" in blood on the door of the home the actress shared with director Roman Polanski. By her own admission, Atkins held Tate down and rejected her pleas for mercy, stabbing the pregnant woman 16 times.
  14. The title reminds me of Jean Reno's part as Viktor the Cleaner in La Femme Nikita. "Acide!"
  15. I love Kurt Vonnegut. If he was still alive, he would have my vote for Greatest Living American.
  16. I am against the death penalty in general, as I do not think an imperfect system of justice can be trusted with the ultimate sanction. In the case of Manson and the family, however, I am willing to make an exception. It has been a tremendous waste of time and money to keep these people alive.
  17. From CNN: California parole board rejects "compassionate release" request of Susan Atkins, a terminally ill former Charles Manson family member.
  18. NO! They really should talk about that more on TV to raise awareness.
  19. Is that what they call "severely hung-over" these days?
  20. Can the "best minds" be spared from their important work over in teh RTT?
  21. I think Canada would be awesome if they exported some tandoori Doritos to me.
