As long as I can, I suppose, but not if it is going to be in agony. This is a passage from Jane Brody to me for a story I wrote: Brody attributed the never-say-die attitudetoward dying to a health-care industry that gets paid for doing as muchas it can, even if what it does is pointless. "If we may be crass for amoment, physicians and hospitals don't get paid for doing nothing.Doctors and hospitals get paid for interventions...They get majorreimbursements for feeding tubes, but they don't get reimbursements forsitting down and feeding them." So if this is true, then perhaps doctors need to be

1. It might help if one thinks of illegal immigrants as fellow human beings. Illegal immigrants are not here because of the thrill of leading a covert life away from their families and homes. They are here because our capitalist economy likes to have workers they don't have to pay as much for and the shit deal that they get here is better than what they have at home. They aren't going anywhere (what, are you gonna round up and deport 12 million people? That'll be the day.) and as they are human beings, they will get sick. Now, will these and other people who don't have insurance, when they get

This reminds me of ads in gentlemen's magazines with the phrase "amazing placebo effect."

Those AFL throwbacks looked pretty good. Buffalo should just wear those full-time.

The Giants will be pretty good and sometimes awesome, but unless a receiver steps up to spread out the defense like Plaxico "Can't Mistake Him for Annie Oakley" Burress did, I don't think they're gonna win the Super Bowl. I don't begrudge Eli his huge payday (as it's not my money), but he is not really in the top tier of QBs. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go watch the Super Bowl XLII highlights on my iPod again.

How Is Kicking Television holding up?

Not great, as I can't remember the last time I listened to it. I really think they should have waited a couple years to let this lineup (which I think is the ne plus kickass) season before putting out a live album. -
What Wilco song is all that from?

Well, if they do that, then they are thought to be wussy. Will David Wright now have to hold a press conference to announce he's not gay?

How come so many people are changing their screen name?

If this goes on and on, we will need a VC version of DC's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" to fix the timeline. Hopefully, no one will have to be Barry Allen. -
That you, Jay?
