I kind of liked Kite Runner, but not in a way that would make me ever read his other stuff. Unless you say I should read his other stuff. And by other stuff I mean this, which, to the best of my knowledge, is his only other book.

This reminds me of the south park where the future humans come and take all the jobs because the future sucks and the solution to that problem is to make sure that the doesn't suck so the people won't have to come back through time to take all the jobs.

I'm pretty sure I stand no chance of getting tickets. But I will try. What they running? 30?

Now that I moved and sit around unemployed, I've been doing well with books: Just read/reread: Phillip K. Dick - Blade Runner (1st time I've read this. It was pretty alright.) Haruki Murakami - After Dark (Seemed very different from his other work. I'm not sure how I felt about it. Kind of boring, but kind of sticking with me) Don Delillo - White Nosie (Again...) NR: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (So far, so good)

I think Wilco was in an AMC ad some other time, too. AGIB release, I think. Can't remember what song (ALTWYS?).

I'll try and be there, Derek. -
Hi Laura. Happy birthday. You are my friend.

I'm glad you feel this way. I hated that movie. As for Jim Carrey overall, I liked the Truman Show. Eat it, bitches. I also have a soft spot for Dumb and Dumber.

For now, that is an obvious solution. But what comes of that in the long term? Alternate combustible fuels are just delaying the inevitable, but they will cause enough of a shift in the mentality of the average citizen (people will be saying, oh, global warming, we got rid of that with E85). And then we get to deal with a bunch of complacent yahoos again in 15 or 20 years when we need to save the earth again.

No from me. As mentioned, there are better methods and while it "helps" corn producers, it also kills the rest of us with increased costs of everything. And the demand is going to end up being too high for our current production methods. Not that we can't do it, but we're pretty much raping ye olde corn belt in the process.

Coke, Coffee, various cheeses. -
Same. mp3s are fine with probably 87% or more of the people so a rule like that would be ridiculous.

I thought that I wanted to make love to the drummer from that Mouthful of Bees band, but then I realized that she is very young.

I am pretty sure I will be at this. Not 100%, but pretty sure.

And, I'm pretty sure, Don DeLillo has something out soon too. Should be a very good May for me.

That bagpipe thing makes it sound kind of like music from an N.E.S. game. I like the music....would be hundreds of times better if Jack didn't sing, actually.

Yeah, if I wanted to book the fucking Autumn Defense.

Maybe I will give them twenty bucks to play my housewarming party in Logan Square whenever I get around to moving and hosting a housewarming party in Logan Square.

The Myspace default is one of the worst websites in the world from a design standpoint and then people decide they need to make their profiles even more awkward and cluttered by adding atrocious backgrounds that make reading text impossible and quizzes and pictures and songs and videos. It's a giant pile of shit. I love facebook's setup. So easy to get around and add photos, etc.

I think this ice cream flavor was invented at Iowa State. I'd have to do some research to confirm that, but I seem to remember something about it. We also created blue cheese.

Whoever put that together needs to have their teeth knocked out.

I didn't get tickets because I'm not sure about this yet, but I imagine I'll try to be there.

Very sad and sorry to hear about this last night, but, on some level, I think it is nice to finally have some closure. We had a similar situation here recently with a kid I knew from a couple classes and it got a lot easier after they found the body and everybody finally stopped speculating.

Can't wait to check this one out. Gald that they rushed it to paperback because of the Oprah Book Club thing. Now I can actually afford to read it (of course, I could and probably will just go to the library for it....).

As recently as last year? I knew he taught there, but thought he was long done with that. Fuck me for not going to Iowa.
