  1. Is it just me, or is this rendition of Spiders, like, one of the best ever. Just subtle differences from when I last heard it live, but it's sounding like a million bucks!
  2. Just got back from Good Records in Dallas where I ran across a beautiful copy of Mermaid Ave. I on vinyl. I have been looking for this one for a while now and saw it on eBay just the other day going for something crazy like $70. I had pretty much given up on getting a copy of it, when low and behold a find a used copy for an astonishingly low $10 at Good Records. Thanks to whatever ex-Wilco fan (dead or otherwise--seriously, who sells this to a used record store for less than $10? You either have to be dead or have become a real hater). Anyway, much love to that guy/girl. You've made my
  3. Anyone want to invite me to open an Oink account? PM me if you can. Thanks. Got it. Appreciate it greatly.
  4. Still haven't received my vinly preorder either, but on the plus side, I ordered YHF on vinyl from them back in the day. After it was a no show for 3 weeks I sent an email and they shipped out a new copy. I received the new one quickly and then randomly much later, the first copy I ordered showed up. Two for the price of one isn't a bad deal. I gifted it to my roommate and called it a day. Could be the same thing happens here. I wouldn't complain too much. Anyway, I have the leaked stuff so a little wait doesn't do much harm.
  5. My local indie record (Goode Records. Dallas) store usually has all kinds of 45's. Of course, they're not the mainstream radio stuff for the most part. I personally never buy them as I'm more of an album guy (which on vinyl, you can now almost find anything worth owning), but I do have a few wilco/uncle tupelo 45s sitting around.
  6. Wow, I purchased Trace on vinyl directly from Farrar's website a little over a year ago for $15 bucks. Looks like it's time to sell.
  7. Yep, the DVD deluxe version has been part of the presale on WilcoWorld since almost the beginning. Good to know that you can pick it up at your local music store, though.
  8. All I want to know is if they'll offer a "Past Wilco Members" bonus pack with Jay, Ken, etc.
  9. Tweedy isn't the only one that repeats himself. This is actually pretty common. I remember reading some of the same Tom Waits stories in multiple places over the years. Same thing goes for movie stars doing interviews for movies. They sit in a room all day and answer the same questions from multiple interviewers with the same answers. Really, if anything, you can blame the interviewers for not asking better questions. But yes, this is pretty standard. At least he's not Farrar, who is constantly getting compared to Tweedy in EVERY article about him.
  10. No love on the PM train [hangs his head in sadness]. EDIT:Wow, that was fast. I guess the squeaky wheel really does get the grease. Thanks to all three of you that responed in less than 20 minutes.
  11. PM me folks. You hook me up. I'll hook others up. Share the love.
  12. If anyone does run across it, don't hesitate to "drop" it right here http://dropbox.yousendit.com/music-here Cheers
  13. Awsome. I was starting to lose hope this would ever surface, but I should have had more faith. Thanks
  14. Just wondering if the concert has been posted over at dime. I know the VC page is down and I'm not sure if my search over at dime has been effective. I get all kinds of stuff when I search for jeff tweedy so I'm thinking I may be doing something wrong. Not to be pushy (props to all the tapers out there), just wondering if I missed something. Thanks.
  15. Indeed, it was a great show. Wasn't really that into Scott McCaughey's set. Electric guitar w/congos. Not the best combo. But Jeff was amazing. I took a friend who hasn't ever listened to Wilco (he stepped in for my pregnant wife at the last minute) and he dug Tweedy's set a lot. And there was a taper so hopefully we can all be enjoying the show soon.
  16. I just checked. It sounds fine here as well. iTunes 7, Windows XP.
  17. It may be blasphemy, but I mean really. It's kinda freaky. I don't think Jeff should shave anymore.
  18. does anyone else think Tweedy looks a little like dave matthews on a bad day in that pic?
  19. I'm also getting the "Error -2048: this is not a movie file" in a small little error box without ever opening up Quicktime (at least visibly). I was getting the page explaining they were having difficulties earlier. I'm not really worried, I know the band will come through in the end, I'm just hoping the error message will help the folks at Wilco HQ figure out what the problem is.
  20. There is no DRM on these files. Thank you Wilco for loving and trusting your fans. I'm sure that those of you who can't download the files even though you bought the DVD (no DVD drive/linux) will find sympathetic friends here on the board to hook you up.
  21. Wow. I've seen that record go for a lot less. They must have a few crazies on the hook there. Next week it will go for $30. And someone will feel really stupid.
  22. Wish I had taken my chance to see it in the theater, just to see other fans and such. I've seen it a few times on DVD now, always thought it had a bit of an abrupt ending, but otherwise enjoy it.
  23. I think you gave a head on interpretation of his views. At least this is what I take away from him.
