  1. Frank Thomas advocated for more steroid testing for a long time. I really hope he didn't use, though it's certainly possible.
  2. I agree that compassion is not their major motivation. Still, it may work out well for a good many folks and no one is (supposedly) being forced to leave. A lot of places seem to do this, though usually it involves a bus ticket.
  3. Might actually be a good thing. There's a high cost of living in Hawaii and folks might be able to get themselves together back home where they have family, etc.
  4. Yes. As you see, they only list those three positions on Monster. It lists them right on the first page. They are all pretty lousy jobs, from what I understand. But could be fun if you don't have a lot of responsibilities.
  5. MLB jobs: http://jobsearch.mlb.careers.monster.com/?...183226-70483990
  6. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001R64HB..._rd_i=678551011 Download Prayer Wheel for free. You need to install the Amazon mp3 downloader if you don't have it.
  7. Apparently the trade talks actually happened, but it was for Delmon Young, not Quentin. The other funny thing is that Poreda is the White Sox' best pitching prospect and Allen is a decent prospect as well.
  8. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/117754-...de-could-happen From the stupid trade rumor department
  9. I could not really find any whiff of rumors on google blog search. There was someone who said he looked like mafia--so it could've been that someone else made a similar observation and a third party ran with it. I doubt that Peoria is a mafia hotbed--though I don't know anything about that. Just guessing.
  10. Kind of a head scratcher, since they haven't moved Dye yet.
  11. It's not exactly on your route, but the Garden of Eden in Lucas, KS is worth a stop: http://www.garden-of-eden-lucas-kansas.com/ http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2103 Part of the ritual involves getting bologna here: http://www.kansastravel.org/brantsmarket.htm
  12. Thus why I said "don't know that he is damaged, just reclusive."
  13. http://regulus2.azstarnet.com/comments/index.php?id=278448
  14. I'm going to call around media outlets to promote the DeBeers diamond cartel.
  15. I think he's saying never happened as in he's putting it behind him. Really, let's move on. This isn't interesting at all. Something that amuses me about the Superbowl is the football dudes making the media rounds to promote stupid crap. Shannon Sharpe is promoting the Hass Avocado Board.
  16. Don't be petty. I'll burn this thread to the ground and listen to it scream.
  17. The VC Superbowl thread is the forefront of the culture wars.
  18. I think it was supposedly the most dreary day of the year recently.
  19. Don't know that Jeff Mangum is damaged--just reclusive. But he definitely has a cult following and vaguely fits the criteria.
  20. Depends on the problem. Check out the hook while the DJ revolves it.
  21. So if the recovery was from WWII or the New Deal...wasn't it a matter of government spending either way?
