  1. I bought tickets for the London gigs via Sandbag and still haven't gotten any sort of shipping notification. Doesn't really matter, since I unfortunately won't be able to make it to those shows anyway but man, that'd be a pain if I was going. It really is just not worth using Sandbag anymore, IMHO.

    Metro-tastic

I could be mistaken here, but I got the sense that the general idea of this was to play progressively smaller venues the way Dylan did a few years back. Civic Opera House, at least according to its Wikipedia page, has a capacity of 3,563. The Riv is listed on various sites as having a capacity of between 2,300-2,500. And on downward with the Vic and Metro. So it seems to me anyway that the next show will somewhere smaller than Metro. Maybe not smaller by much (which is one of the reasons Park West makes a lot of sense) but smaller nonetheless. Oh, and please anything but the Congress. That p
  3. I think it's really amusing to look at the FB comments as well. Whenever "Wilco" posts anything, immediately there's like 100 comments by various people basically begging the band to come to their town/city/country (even when they just have). But hooray for all you West Coast folks!
  4. You'd definitely be reading waaaay too much into my previous comment because I honestly know nothing. Purely a guesstimate on my part...
  5. He might still do stuff there on occasion, but I heard he didn't have an ownership stake in the place anymore. But you probably know more than I do...
  6. Thanks so much! Would be great to see you again, of course. But whether I can get there or not, I'm sure they'll make it out to your neck of the woods within the next six months or so...
  7. Doubt they'll be playing there again anytime soon. A big reason they played there before, I believe, is that it used to be owned or part-owned by their front-of-house man Stan. But I'm pretty sure he's no longer involved with that place.
  8. Yeah, who do you Europeans think you are? Americans? (Actually, I bet there are a fair number of Americans at the shows...at least in Brussels.)
  9. Haha, I doubt they could even fit the entire band on either of those stages! Let's be at least somewhat realistic here. I would be surprised if Saturday/Sunday isn't at Park West. It makes sense because a) it's available; it's another Jam Productions venue that often hosts XRT-sponsored shows, which these all seem to be; and c) because it's small, but not way too small for the band to actually be able to have their normal stage setup (production). Of course, it'd be great if they'd play the Hideout or Lincoln Hall/Schubas but you can't realistically expect that.
  10. You can't imagine Lincoln Hall, but can imagine Old Town? Old Town is way smaller, isn't it? Lincoln Hall would be great, of course. Metro seems more realistic--and perhaps appropriate--personally. I remember reading an interview with the owner of Metro a while ago--maybe around their 20th anniversary a few years back--where he was asked which band(s) he regrets not having booked there and he mentioned Wilco. Something about how they just sort of missed the boat on them as they were coming up as a band and then they were too big. I've always found it a little weird that Wilco as a band is
  11. It really has gotten to the point where I personally have to think about just that. I could almost understand it taking so long to get tickets for me since I'm not based in the UK, but it's troubling to hear that you guys have the same problems. Honestly I can't remember a time I've bought through Sandbag that I haven't had some sort of issue and, although they are always very nice when you e-mail or phone them, it's getting to the point where I think I'm probably just better off waiting to buy from another agency.
  12. Sappy's good sometimes! And you're welcome! (Was the record as good as the cover art?)
  13. Yay! Happy for you guys (even if it's not likely I'll be able to get there)!
  14. Love the backstage group shot, but no closeups of Ms. Bolme?
  15. Thanks for the offer! I was more just wondering why some countries have ticket systems that are so efficient and others where you can't even get them to accept your credit card or make a print-at-home ticket. Was just curious.
  16. Pretty outrageous that the shipping charges, at least through the agency linked on Wilcoworld (which is different than the fnac link you posted, Samuel; the fnac site appears to be only in French) is nearly 75 percent of the ticket price itself for shipping anywhere except France. I think the ticket was 40-something Euros and the shipping was 30 Euros! I can almost understand it for shipping to the USA, etc., but that must be annoying for you non-French-residing Europeans. Anyway, I don't understand why they can't make the tickets print-at-home (like the very efficient Swiss) and keep the ship
  17. Since no one's posted the setlist yet, as played, allow me to do the honors before I sleep for approximately a week: Capitol City> One Sunday Morning Poor Places> Art Of Almost IATTBYH> I Might Black Moon Bull Black Nova Impossible Germany Born Alone Jesus, etc. Handshake Drugs War On War Box Full Of Letters Standing O Via Chicago Dawned On Me A Shot in the Arm ----------------------------- Whole Love 36 Inches High [Jim Ford] (w/Nick Lowe on lead vocals and electric guitar)> I Love My Label [Nick Lowe] (w/Nick Lowe on vocals and electric guitar) I'm The Man Who Loves You Monday&
  18. Sorry, sorry! I can attest to OSM as opener versus mid-set, though. I really like it as an opener, especially when it flows into AoA and I Might. Just something about that sequencing reminds me of Poor Places>Reservations>IATTBYH (though I'm not sure if that's ever actually happened). I think OSM as opener in a theater setting, especially, works really well because as someone else has mentioned, it forces the audience to pay attention right away and get focused on the show. I think mid-set does create a lull sometimes, though I think when it's followed by Shouldn't Be Ashamed, it's a p
  19. The nyctaper list that someone posted earlier in this thread is correct. The ???? was Standing O.
  20. La poste est tres vite a Belgique! :-) I won't get to listen to my vinyl for quite some time yet...:-(
  21. Flip Whole Love and Born Alone and you've got it right...
  22. ...they're breaking street date by a week and selling the new record at the show tonight in Boston. Or so I hear. So much for what I said in another thread about them not jumping the gun. Ha!
  23. Not to quote myself, but forget what I said. I just heard from "a source" that apparently they're selling the new album at the show tonight in Boston...
  24. Nick's been playing pretty much exactly 40 minutes, so whenever he starts, count on that timing for his set. I'm pretty sure they have to be done by no later than 10 at Summerstage shows, so that accounts for the ultra-early start. I'd say Wilco doesn't come out until closer to 8, though. Maybe 7:45. Something tells me Nick isn't going on until probably 6:30 at the earliest.
  25. I just have to say, and I'm sure this will probably happen again sometime as the new songs get integrated into the band's catalog, but I think this show might have been a first for me: not a single song from Being There. Interesting... Now if that were ever to be the case with, say, Summerteeth...
