3/6th of One Hundred Dollars used to be/is his backing band. I'm listening to it, because this show looks absolutely amazing. (Sorry, not trying to overload a far flung message board with local shows, but I know we share the feeling of hearing about something special and knowing you can't go, damn it all.) Steamboat invites you and yours to celebrate the release of our new cd. Were doing 2 sets with our friends: ANDRE ETHIER SANDRO PERRI MANTLER ALEX LUKASHEVSKY SIMONE & IAN FROM $100 DOUG PAISLEY Featuring the Memphis Ontario Horns ( Bryden Baird, Jay Baird, Josep

Re - the Arkells - you might like them. I can't get past the Cons resemblance to really enjoy them. If they produce another album that doesn't seem to be a rip off, I'll do a re-think. They were a relatively big hit at SXSW. Cancon stuff that you also might like: One Hundred Dollars Jon Rae Fletcher Bruce Pennisula Timbre Timbre Sunparlour Players that last Julie Dorion album (it's her HAPPY album) Eamon McGrath (this guy is nutso entertaining) WoodPigeon Japandroids Women NQ Arbuckle (these guys have a huge Buckner fetish) The Burning Hell You probably know most, if not all of the

Greggy - I know you don't visit much and you're all the way down at the Gulf Coast, but there are a ton better, other acts up here. No need to mention a Wilco cover band. Sincerly, liz. (But if you still feel so inclined, you might want to go check out the Arkells. They are pretty much a Constantines cover band)

Ahhhright. Just found a Bluejays blog I can love: http://www.drunkjaysfans.com/ 'So, while I have nothing personal, so to speak, against Burnett, as I do with Alex Rodriguez or Jonathan Papelbon, I am going to exercise my full right as a fan to voice my displeasure at a player I used to cheer for. Fucking suck it, Burnett.'

Hey Kalle, you see this? It's my friend Colin Medley's sort of weekly video doc for the National Post, with an episode on Fletcher. It blew me away last night. Fletcher is sitting on the empty stage at Horseshoe cutting an emotional vein on camera. This is also number 21 in a great series of 6 or 7 minute documentaries on Canuck bands. Others profiled in the series include Elliott Brood, Old Man Ludecke, Constantines, and a great Eric's Trip segment. Can't wait 'til he does One Hundred Dollars.

thanks Kalle. Listening now.

Met Paul Mortimer (in the Cap) at a Ladyhawk show. It seems that almost everyone in the picture, except Jon Rae and Anne Rust now make up 5/6ths of One Hundred Dollars. I'm really loving everything this little Ladyhawk-$100-Jon Rae collective are doing - It's just astounding that they are all so talented. (got a a Ladyhawk t-shirt autographed from Ryan and Duffy to send down to their 'Biggest Fan in the whole wide world' in Missississippi) NP: Jon Rae Fletcher - Oh Maria http://www.herohill.com/MP3/01%20Maria.mp3
