I am a music major in school, and for the last 3 years I have been forced to sing Italian arias and crummy little art songs. I mean it's okay, and I've learned a ton, and actually loved quite a few of the pieces, but just as many make me cringe. Today, in my 3rd lesson with my new teacher, she suggested I sing a musical theatre song. I can't stand musical theatre stuff, and explained my reasons. She said "Well, what about a pop song, like a Beatles song or something?" I said the Beatles would be awesome, but the keys a lot of those songs are written in aren't ideal for the female voice. i've worn glasses since i was 9, and i can't imagine not wearing them... they're part of who i am i think. i can see how the surgery might be useful if you have to work in a very labor intensive job where you're upside or something for long periods of time like my dad and his friend who work on air conditioners...my dad's friend actually had it done a year or 2 ago, and i don't think he's had any major issues other than he has to carry eye drops with him.

i'm excited about it too. at my house we've always run pc, but 2 years ago i bought my macbook, and now i hate working on the pc at home. granted, i don't really know how to DO much on my mac other than import into itunes, surf the interweb, and type school work in pages.

i've met Jay, and found him to be very approachable.

I've talked to all the current members several times. Jeff has always been the nicest to me, with John and Glenn in close 2nd. I got to talk to Jay Bennett when he and Ed Burch came to Chattanooga when I was a sophomore in high school. My dad took me to the bar to see the show, and we ended up talking with Jay for a long time! He even offered to help me with my algebra homework!

i enjoyed it a lot, it really should have won. i didn't watch the award show, but did check amanda palmer's tweets about it every so often. she posted a couple "behind the scenes" pictures during it all, and they were funny.

Besides "Into the Mystic" i don't really care for any other Van Morrison songs... at all.

i am going to watch baseball this year because it looks fun.
