My sister was in the car with my Grandma (affectionately refered to as G-dawg-ma in our house now) and she said that "Hate It Here" played on the radio and Becca mentioned that it was Wilco and my grandma cracked the radio up and at the end of the song said "That singer's voice is so clean, very pure!" I nearly fell over when Becca told me.

yeah, i clicked on the thread not sure what it was about... are GPS systems that common of a thing now? i've only been in 3 cars (maybe not even 3) that have them... we still use mapquest...

Ha! I totally saw him open for Ben Folds 2 weeks ago! He was fantastic! My sister and I are both fans now. We actually heard one of his tunes on a movie called "Rocket Sience"...he put on a great show. He reminds me of Ryan Adams-style humor mixed with Andrew Bird's melodies.

yeah, in nashville there was a group of guys basically sitting at the stage door waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting Wilcos as they came out the door. they were having them sign stuff and taking pictures while they were signing, jeff asked if they were gonna put it on ebay or if they worked for a dealer and the guys were like "no.." i was gonna say something about it when they were doing it, but i didn't think it was my palce. it made me so mad though... i have a ton of signed stuff from wilco and a couple other bands, and all of it is so special. i think the coolest thing though is that s

6/19/07 in atlanta was pretty awesome. my favorite recording for sure from the past year. not just because i was there, but the fact that you can hear the crazy pouring rain makes it special.

Never got to see it in the theater, although, I do remember getting ridiculously excited in 2003 when they were screening it at Sewanee College (about 45 minutes from me), but in the end my dad wouldn't drive me to see it. I had a dream last night featuring Glenn. It was really weird. We were in the balcony of the Ryman hanging out and he was telling me really important things. I can't remember them now, but in the dream it was like a life and death situation. We talked for a long time, then he asked me to come to Chicago to help him look for a house that he'd seen in a paper. I promised that I would and gave him a hug, and the next thing I knew I was awake.

This record was basically THE record for me in me junior and senior years of high school. there's a lot of emotional distress attached to the songs, but at the same time the songs themselves offer comfort. 12 musical hugs. the loud guitar parts to me, embody what music is. like, the blood, tears, and ultimate release that goes into playing and making music. case in point "At Least That's What You Said"- even though it's loud, there's an elegance there that could rival something Beethoven composed (at least in my mind). Actually, a lot of that song reminds me of Beethoven's symphonys. Quiet
