  1. this record is very good. much more layered maybe a bit more mature. i dig it.
  2. I guess I was 17... and one of my high school teachers saw I like Wilco and Elliott Smith and she made me a copy of It Still Moves because she loved the record and thought I would like it too. And I do, and "Z" haven't gotten any early stuff yet though...
  3. i am super excited to see them in August!
  4. on the "low rider" reference A-Man. The trombone section of my high school band arranged that song for the section, and it was always so fun. I play "On and On and On" based off of that solo acoustic tab that was posted in the tab section, but instead of capo on 5 I capo on 1 to sing it better. My register is higher so a lower capo works well. I also played around with the chords. It's more of an interpretation... I will see if somebody can video a bit of it friday that i can post.
  5. Thanks guys. I am playing again next friday. Outside this time, during a car show. Yay for play in heat. Maybe I will get the car show folks to rock out a little....
  6. Happy Birthday Rosie! W00t. some RSBFs for you on your birfday!
  7. I requested "Wishful Thinking" in person to Jeff before the Nashville show, and it didn't get played, but he said they were gonna play "Pieholden Suite" which was my request through the website a week or so before. and the lucky people who saw the show in AL the day after the Nashville show got to hear "Wishful Thinking" (lucky ducks) So, they do honor website requests. When they played that one in Nashville I nearly fell over when it started, looked at my friend and said "Holy CRAP!!" and she looked like: One day you will hear it!
  8. yep i learned it from an Elliott Smith cover. Beautiful song. here's a youtube vidoe my cousin took from last night:
  9. there has not been a super good local band in chattanooga for at least 3 years now, which is sad
  10. I know. Yeah, I thought they were really good. The mix was pretty horrible though. Treble was waaaaaaay too high.
  11. Bel Air is an okay song to play...dunno why I didn't think of it. I will keep it in my head in case I run through all those and need more to play. I saw the Black Crowes last night A-Man and I thought of you
  12. Tonight I am playing a show at a pizza place my friend works at. I have never played a serious gig in my life, only one or 2 songs at open mics and talent contests, so, anybody have any advice? My set list is below. Songs with astericks are originals. Thanks so much... I am very excited! Pieholden Suite Terrible Vision Clouds Jesus Etc. Rollerskate Skinny California Stars Come Pick Me Up Falling Slowly Tear Stained Eye After All* Man on the Moon* Time You Take * Far, Far Away Streets Where I
  13. Whoa! Is the Sundazed pressing really going for 50? I just got it off Aural Exploits for $28
  14. I saw the movie yesterday, and I am easily creeped out by scary movies, so i jumped a lot! i thought the part where they used the Wilco song was good, like it fit, until the scary stuff started happening... then when the Haggard song played...yikes! I don't think I will ever listen to that song in the same way again. It was an okay movie. The Wilco song was the best not-scary part.
  15. so ben blew up the boat on purpose?
  16. I am going to the Nashville show (I think)...
  17. i learned some stuff and grew up a bit and now things are okay. i over-react to a lot of stuff. that situation being a very good example. anyway, "color of a lonely heart..." is the best song on the thing.... i knew you would be the first one to post after i did...
  18. Blood on the Tracks wins my vote. Followed by Highway 61...
  19. thanks, guys! haven't had a drink yet. gonna go out tonight i think...
