I didn't realize that, in Colorado, school administrators are part of the legislative branch.

Of course, to be reinstated, a teacher suspended for keeping Pluto in his Solar System model will have to agree to rotate Pluto out in favor of Charon or Ceres every six weeks. It's only fair.

I imagine that's only if there's a Federal law prohibiting the display of Pluto unless it directly pertains to the current curriculum. Otherwise, probably not.

There's a link to an update at the bottom of the page. Apparently, he gets to go back, but has to rotate the flags he uses, so as not to be displaying foreign flags "permanently." Still seems like a bit of a ridiculous statute, but I think it's a reasonable compromise by the school district...

We own it. Good stuff. This is what I've taken away from the movie, having watched it a few times now: Natalie Merchant is fucking crazy. Nora Guthrie wants Billy Bragg like nobody's business. Billy Bragg likes anti-fascist songs. Jeff Tweedy would rather have songs that don't suck than overtly political songs that maybe aren't as good. Billy Bragg's son is just about the cutest kid in the world. British people should not wear shorts.
