rghammo
Just to be clear, the numbers on the left are the dates in November of the shows. The other dates refer to on-sale dates. Right?
Wendy
yeah - the tour starts in November Wow - Clowes Hall in Indy is a big fancy place. It's where the opera is performed, and one with really perfect acoustics. Hmmmm ... Andrew Bird at Logan Square - vs - MMJ at Clowes. I think I may have to go with MMJ. bobfrombob
The lack of any dates north of the 49th parallel must mean a Canadian tour is in the works
watch me fall
Cool, the Music Farm in Charleston. I may have to check this out.
jonbama
dates on left are on show dates, others on the right are on sale dates. sorry. just copiedand pasted that. should be METAL Edited September 14, 2006 by jonbama
OOO
where the $%#$ is the L.A. date? Also: "dates on left are on sale dates, others on the right are on sale date" is a nonsense sentence.
El Picador
where the $%#$ is the L.A. date? No love for the left coast. Me sad. Can we trade a couple of the 50 Social D shows we get yearly for one MMJ show?
marino13
Timing isn't great for me with my possibles being over Thanksgiving weekend. I will find a way to make it to one show, hopefully two. I really wanted to take a couple of friends to the Chicago show, but they will probably have family obligations. Is the Riviera a good place to catch a show (I've been to the Metro and The Vic, are they similar?). Also has anyone been to the St. Louis, Indy, or Milwaukee venues? Thanks. Wendy
Wow - Clowes Hall in Indy is a big fancy place. It's where the opera is performed, and one with really perfect acoustics. Yes, I've been to Clowes Hall several times. Saw Emmylou Harris there last fall, and she mentioned how Clowes has a reputation of being a performer's favorite venue (although that could have been Suzanne Vega who I also saw at Clowes, anyway one of the two ladies said that. Sorry - I see too many shows and details get a little fuzzy with age ). Saw Elvis Costello's solo performance there last fall. He was able to go sans microphone and the sound of his voice resonated to every seat. That was a unique performance, Elvis solo. I can't really say enough good things about this venue. But it is not a nightclub, so if that's your favorite type of venue when seeing a show, you will hate this place. It is reserved seats, and probably people will sit down. Although maybe not. I don't think they let you take drinks to your seat. They do have a bar in the lobby. Also, I don't believe there is a center aisle, so people might have to cut in front of you to get to their seats. But you have lots of leg room and don't have to stand up in order for them to do that. It's pretty plush, 3 balcony tiers. But this is where MMJ will be playing on the Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend.

Beltmann
Is the Riviera a good place to catch a show (I've been to the Metro and The Vic, are they similar?). Also has anyone been to the St. Louis, Indy, or Milwaukee venues? Thanks.I've been to the Riverside in Milwaukee, most recently for Belle & Sebastian/New Pornos. It's a very nice venue, far classier than, say, the Eagles Ballroom. It also has a massive balcony.

The Riviera is a great mid-size venue to see a band. Good sight lines, good sound... The Vic is a bit smaller and has many more poor sound spots. The Metro is much, much smaller and much, much better. That said, Riviera is a good venue.

Beltmann
Don't you mean....THE RAVE!!!!! ?The Rave/Eagles Club building contains five concert halls: The Rave Bar, The Rave Vibe Room, The Rave Hall, The Eagles Hall--and the Eagles Ballroom, which is the large auditorium upstairs. And I'll take the Riverside or the Pabst over all of them.
Dr. Steve Brule
Wow, if I go to this show I will have seen them at Schubas, Metro, The Vic, Petrillo and the Riv. Just need to sneak the Hideout in there.

Stevie Ray in '84,MILES in '87,& Stanley Jordan) It may not be my FAVORITE place to see a show (Palace in L'ville ) but of all the places of its' size I've been to the acoustics are unparalleled.
