bobbob1313
I don't know what it says about you. but it figures you'd like him. Any reason for that? It obviously has a negative connotation to you.
explodo
And now, ladies and gentlemen, an aside to this argument brewing: I'd like to make love to Dane Cook's rotting corpse! Who's with me!?
rwrkb
i'm with b2 here, i think dane cook is pretty funny... i didn't see snl last night, but in general i think he's a good comedian. however, i do think snl seems to find a way to bring the worst out of people for the last six years at least. bjorn_skurj
Dane Cook has amused my inner teenager from time to time.
Analogman
I have not really watched SNl for a couple of years - but I would like to see Gabriel Iglesias on there.
aricandover
I really think this thread should be about how awful SNL is now. now? how about the last 8-10 years?
myboyblue
now? how about the last 8-10 years? some of the best skits of all time have come out of the last 8-10 years. Cowbell anyone? edit - or was that more than 8-10 years ago? nah.
aricandover
some of the best skits of all time have come out of the last 8-10 years. Cowbell anyone? some good stuff, for sure (Will Ferrell, Darrell Hammond and Tim Meadows were always gold) but for the most part the show and cast have been terrible since 1994. However, as I mentioned, that doesn't stop me from taping it each week so that my disappointment continues indefinitely.
Moltisanti
That Tourgasm show had to be the worst thing HBO has put out since Arli$$ was cancelled. Dane Cook seems to be pretty popular among teenage girls, so I think the Ryan Reynolds comparison is pretty spot-on.

explodo
Dane Cook seems to have his own religion here on campus so it's not just teenage girls. It's teenage girls, one young adult male from Florida, and a bunch of kids with belt buckles the size of my head.

Preferred B
I thought the TSA skit on SNL last night was funny. Sometimes I think Dane Cook is funny too! Kris, when U and I saw Greg Proops last month he made some comment about appreciating Dane Cook because date rapists need a comedian, too. Which comedian is higher on your hate list? Gobias Industries
well, i find people who do dumb things not funny at all. my kind of humor comes from the head (not that kind of head, mind you)

bjorn_skurj
I think being so popular with frat boys and frat-boys-in-waiting has made him very unpopular in the circles where the above groups are seen as the most contemptible form of human life.
rwrkb
i hate frat boys but i enjoy dane cook
Beltmann
My entire familiarity with Dane Cook derives from the two times he's hosted SNL. I don't know anything about the frat-boy baggage he carries, but I thought he was fairly sharp and likable the first time he hosted. This week, though, was the complete reverse: The monologue was mediocre at best (no rogue peanuts to save the day), and he added virtually nothing to the sketches.
