cryptique
Loved King Kaufman's column this morning... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - King Kaufman's Sports Daily Once more with absurdity: In an NBA do-over, the Heat won't lose Shaq to fouls in overtime vs. the Hawks. But they still can't use him. Mar. 04, 2008 | The NBA has set up the guidelines for the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat to replay the last 51.9 seconds of their Dec. 19 game Saturday night. The guidelines are: Do whatever you want. The Hawks won that game 117-111, putting it away after Heat center Shaquille O'Neal fouled out with 51 seconds left in overtime and the Hawks up by one. An item in the notes at the end of the Associated Press story on the game read, "The first postgame statistics showed O'Neal with only five fouls, prompting [Heat coach Pat] Riley to suggest he would protest the game. A review of the play-by-play sheet showed one of O'Neal
mountain bed
Wow. Is it really possible that it's been six weeks since anyone posted in this thing? I found this on page 9! Well, here's my excuse: I think this was the year that my team finally broke my back. I been a Pacers fan my whole life, and I've suffered through some really terrible teams. In the early '80s we even had to do a telethon just to keep the team in Indy. But ever since the 'incident' of November '04 this team has continually disappointed me with their off-court displays of thuggery and bad decisions. What once was at least a respectable franchise has become a laughing stock. Where I usually watch 50-60 games a year I only saw the Pacers play about 10-15 times at most. I just gave up. Maybe things will change but for now I doubt it. Oh well, the playoffs are just around the bend - time to crank this sucker back up, eh?
bobbob1313
man, the Heat were bad this year. It wasn't a lack of talent, just the talent not working together. A Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose makes this a playoff team next year.
mountain bed
Bump for the playoffs!

LouisvilleGreg
That Phoenix San Antonio game that just ended was a classic. One ridiculous shot after another. Duncan hitting his only three of the season, Nash's falling out of bounds three at the end of the second overtime. It's insane to think that either one of these two teams could win it all, yet one of them will be out in the first round. Also, if the NBA took the top 16 overall teams vs 8 from the east and 8 from the west, Golden State would've been a #4 in the east. This is going to be one of the best postseasons of all time. Duck-Billed Catechist
Wow, Bulls with the no. 1 pick. Think the fix is in? I am sure that either of the two will improve the Bulls, but I'm not convinced that either is as good as people think.
Gobias Industries
The Bulls got so damn lucky, and Minnesota got shafted out of its mind. I can't see why the Bulls would take Rose, because Beasely really has the goods that the Bulls lack. And, the Heat would fit Rose well, I think. And plus, I would hate to see a player like Rose be on the same team as the most ugly man on earth.
cryptique
The Bulls got so damn lucky, and Minnesota got shafted out of its mind. That's the way the ping-pong ball falls. But how exactly was Minnesota "shafted"? The lottery operated exactly the way it's supposed to. They do it that way so no team is guaranteed a top pick, which (hopefully) prevents teams from tanking games at the end of the season. (Full disclosure: I'm a Bulls fan.)
