clint
not too bad... here In 1999, Wilco willingly abdicated their position as one of the leading acts in the alt-country movement to dive head-first into the challenging waters of experimental pop with their album Summerteeth, and moved even further away from their rootsy origins with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born, winning the group a new and enthusiastic audience along the way. So it might amuse a number of the band's earlier fans that in many respects Wilco's sixth studio album, Sky Blue Sky, sounds like the long-awaited follow-up to 1996's Being There

euhuasdhuad
here. . . with Cline, Wilco has its strongest guitarist to date, and while his interplay with Sansone on numbers like "Impossible Germany" and "Walken" lacks the skronky . . . Oops. Yeah, Sansone played guitar on IG, but I'm pretty sure most of the guitar interplay was between Jeff and Nels, not Nels and Pat. This makes it sound like Jeff's guitar work isn't nearly as essential to the track as it obviously is.
You Can Be The Stone
Where are the references to rehab and Krautrock? They replaced with finally acknowledging that Pat and Mike exist in the band, which is great! But yeah, I love allmusic. They're one of the few music review sites that provide genuinely substantial reviews most of the time.

nicburto
I like their reviews as well - do they have a staff that writes these or do they contract them out?
cryptique
I like their reviews as well - do they have a staff that writes these or do they contract them out?Beats hell out of me. They're located here in Ann Arbor, but aside from Erlewine, I'm not sure if any of the reviewers ever sets foot inside their office.
Wendy
Somebody needs to tell them they've left Mikael Jorgensen completely off of the credits page, though.
bleedorange
That's actually a really good review. But I wonder why they're afraid of giving any of the albums since Summerteeth anything higher than 4 stars.
Edie
Is "skronky" really a word?
nicburto
Is there really mellotron on Leave Me? I could've swore it was Nels' guitar
unposed_question
the blank/bonus track was mentioned on another review recent as well, wasnt it? I have a sneaking suspicion that its LNGCA
oatmealblizzard
I like their reviews as well - do they have a staff that writes these or do they contract them out?I think they must contract at least some of them out, as I have seen a couple of reviews written by people I randomly know. And if the offices are located in Ann Arbor as someone mentioned, I don't think these people don't ever set foot there - as they live elsewhere. But yes, I think it's a pretty good review, too. Dr. Steve Brule
I have a sneaking suspicion that its LNGCA nope, I've had the actual promo cd and nothing comes up in iTunes as a track 13, or on the disc in the finder.
cryptique
And if the offices are located in Ann Arbor as someone mentioned, I don't think these people don't ever set foot there - as they live elsewhere.Pretty sure that Stephen Thomas Erlewine lives here in town, but I don't know about anyone else. Their offices are here. Well, actually a little more toward the top of that curve and on the east side of the road.
nicburto
I have a sneaking suspicion that its LNGCA All music generally lists another track when the album is "enhanced" - but it isn't a track
