augurus
It's mid-year again. I guess it's time to take a look back at the candidates for 2007's best albums and singles. Also, I should listen to some Fiery Furnaces before they come into town.
Mystik Spiral
Alright, Tualla, mission accomplished. I'm hooked, and firmly entrenched in the VC Broken Family Band faction.

augurus
Radiohead2006, June 07th & 08thToronto, Ontario, CanadaHummingbird Centre The concert still reminds me of when I sulked in a crowd full of howling buffoons insisting that interjecting interruptions will make You And Whose Army, Exit Music, and Fake Plastic Trees sound better than the band would perform. bobbob1313
Actually a pretty solid collection of covers, not counting the atrocity that is Aerosmith's version of "Give Peace A Chance". What the hell were they thinking there? Christina Aguilera's cover of "Mother" is fantastic, and I really enjoy Ben Harper's "Beautiful Boy". The Flaming Lips "Just Like Starting Over" is pretty good, and I really like Jakob Dylan and Dhani Harrison's "Gimme Some Truth". I mean, really if you take out Avril Lavigne's "Imagine", Aerosmith's "Give Peace A Chance", and Big & Rich's "Nobody Told Me", there's not a bad song on here. Also, hearing Regina Spektor do "Real Love" at Bonnaroo was a real highlight for me. What a great version.
Welsh Rich
Green Day's cover is woeful... just really trashes the original...
bobbob1313
Green Day's cover is woeful... just really trashes the original... I'm indifferent to that song, actually. They didn't change it up enough for me to say it's awful or great. It's just a straight up louder version. I am dissapointed that they seem to be sticking with the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" guitar tone and drum sounds. I was hoping they'd go in a new direction, since all of their albums thus far have seen them do something different each time...
Welsh Rich
Yeah - that's my problem with it - it's just Green Day by numbers...
