Tenderloin
did anyone go to The Vic to purchase tickets? Curious to see how many people in line. I was going to head up there but slept through my alarm.
JRiordan
I was worried that if I wasn't first or second in line at the Vic that I'd have no chance, and plus I don't want to wake up any earlier than I have to, so I went the online/phone route. but yeah curious too
j4lackey
How the puck did I miss that???? Johnny, are you coming up for the show?? I am! Maybe Jenny, as well. Is Scott going to the show, too?
zebra
So, Lackey, how long does it take you to draw a poster? So, does the pavilion people put up barriers along the sidewalk in the park, so people cannot just stand up above and watch the show? Or do they just tell people to 'keep walking'? j4lackey
So, Lackey, how long does it take you to draw a poster? Not long at all, unless it's for my favorite band in a big park in their own hometown for charity. As a matter of fact, I am skipping the first of two cookouts tonight to hammer this thing into shape as we speak. So, does the pavilion people put up barriers along the sidewalk in the park, so people cannot just stand up above and watch the show? Or do they just tell people to 'keep walking'?Yeah, they say stuff like "What are you, some kinda wise guy?", "Wipe that grin off your face", and "Stop that dancing"! (Actually, I've never seen a show there, so I'm kinda curious about that myself).

zebra
According to Wilco's website, this show is SOLD OUT! Ok, we all knew this would happen, but now it's official. I am sure somebody has already mentioned this. For those you unable to get tickets, you can enter to win them via WXRT.com.
Edie
I am! Maybe Jenny, as well. Is Scott going to the show, too? YAY!!!! Can't wait to see you -- maybe some pre-show hanging out since the show is seated?? I haven't broken the news to Scott yet that he is Though I had our upstairs neighbor say to us while in the laundry room that she had scored lawn tix to the show, and just bought her first Wilco CD. She also 'fessed up to me that she and her husband sat on the stairs outside our door and listened to Jeff during the LR concert at my place last year
SlowBurn68
My spidey senses tell me that this is going to be one of the best Wilco shows ever, so I'm saving up to purchase any and all related media, posters, t-shirts, etc...
zebra
Maybe they will broadcast this show as a webcast.

Reni
we aren't going to the concert - but we sure would love to see the Lackeys and Hirtensteins!!

Not to sound like a downer, but I disagree. Tuesday night + curfew + peoples' high expectations = inevitable letdown. I remember people saying the same thing about the Auditorium shows last November (thinking that they would rival the 2003 Auditorium shows), only to say that they were good shows, but not the best. Let's hope that I'm wrong though.
dannygutters
SO they were out of lawn tickets at the vic at 11am but I did get two "obstructed view" pavillion seats for $20. Am I going to be able to see anything at all? Anyone know where the obstructed view seats are at? Oh well.
EL the Famous
i know this is for charity and all, but the logistics have dictated we will end up waiting until they do a show in an indoor venue.
Guest Jules
i know this is for charity and all, but the logistics have dictated we will end up waiting until they do a show in an indoor venue.Same here. I find it hard to believe this will be their only Chicago show this fall.
chicago
I bet just walking into the park will be way worse than The Decembierist. Yeah? no because there is a limit on the amount of people unlike the decemberists show

zebra
no because there is a limit on the amount of people unlike the decemberists showBut people can still stand outside and hear the show like The Decemberists, right? If so, I imagine it to be packed outside.
