nettles
If I was gonna make a best of comp off I-tunes or elsewhere, of the

tapmyglass
Someone's Got a Hold of My Heart this might be my favorite of all his tunes. way better then the remake "Tight Connection to my Heart"
Mr. Heartbreak
Brownsville Girl (essential)Seconded.I'd consider Driftin' Too Far From Shore as well.
aricandover
if you can include something from the Wilburys, "Tweeter and the Monkey Man" is probably the best song Dylan recorded in the 80's.
Lammycat
Good list and good call on "Tweeter." Excellent tune. I also enjoy "Congratulations" from that Willburys album. I'd add to the already fine list: The Groom's Still Waiting at the AltarI and IandEvery Grain of Sand
mountain bed
I'd add to the already fine list: The Groom's Still Waiting at the AltarOh hell yes! One of my favorite rhymes of Bob's during this period: What can I sat about Claudette?Ain't seen her since JanuaryShe could be respectably marriedOr runnin' a whorehouse in Buenos Aires I'll add License To Kill...a big favorite of mine (and one I can play & sing w/o the lyrics in front of me )

Oh yeah, "Congratulations." If I was making this mix, that would have to be included. I never liked "Tweeter" much, but it is definitely well regarded and should be included. Wilburys 3 was from the 90's, right? "If You Belonged to Me" is pretty great, but, I guess, ineligible for an 80's mix.

Not to stray too far from the thread focus, but I've always thought Infidels to be an overall great album. It's one of those albums I can listen to all the way through and have no desire to skip a note. Sly & Robbie on drums/bass, Mark Knopfler and Mick Taylor on guitars, and some classic great writing and vocals by Dylan. Great stuff.

I know that's saying alot, but that LP came out at just the right time. Perfect for the Ray-Gun years.
W(TF)
Gotta Serve Somebody, from Dylan And The Dead. This song was a staple of his live shows during many of those years. And the record is a document of the collaborations with Garcia and co. And maybe something off the '86 tour with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. There's a VHS/DVD of that tour out there somewhere, it's the kind of thing you can find in your local library.
froggie
funny, i'm just listening to Infidels now. Definately jokerman needs to be there i'd put Danville Girl above the Brownsville one. also, he did a cover of People get ready in 1989 for the natural born killers soundtrack. evenb though its a cover, the atmosphere is very "oh mercy"
mjpuczko
i'd add:in the summertimeangelina (fuckin' great, great song)
nettles
Thanks for all the suggestions, I had most of these on my computer but never listened to them much and then lost them in the great I-tunes folder disaster of 06, but lately been wanting to give them another listen. As for the Wilburys, I got all that, some of my favorite music ever.
mountain bed
angelina (fuckin' great, great song) How did I forget that one! Hell, that's one of his best from any era.
RubenRemus
I might add 'Saving Grace' and 'I Believe in You' to the songs already mentioned above. Nice thread.
