DAngerer09
I stumbled across a band called Pronto on MySpace and judging from some of the photos, Mike appears to front the band. I think their songs are pretty darn good and he has a great voice (particularly on "Good Friends Have Gone") Pronto Anyone else listened to this or seen them live? Do they have a CD I can buy? TCP
If Mike can sing why doesn't he sing back up in Wilco?
aricandover
I took that one. (more here) they put a great live show, and I love the songs they have up on MySpace. but sadly, they don't have a CD yet.
FourStrongWinds
I suppose Pat and John have got their harmonies down pretty tight, so why add another voice these songs sound really good though, cheers for posting this
LouieB
Everyone needs a band...every other Wilco member has one or more.... LouieB
mpolak21
I like these guys. I thought they'd be a little more experimental based on Mike's leanings, but these are all damn fine pop songs. --Mike

aricandover
The blog is rather interesting. yeah, there's a lot of good stuff available for download. Mike was pretty good about updating it for awhile, but I guess he doesn't have the time since wilco started touring behind SBS.
LouieB
When is he going to play a Chicago gig? (I know he is busy now.) I have seen just about every other Wicoite in some group or another. LouieB
aricandover
probably not anytime soon. when he's not on the road with Wilco, he's in Brooklyn.

aricandover
Yea, I know, but maybe he can be talked into a Hideout gig over the winter break. LouieB he did two shows at the Hideout awhile back. either last year or the year before. one was solo and the other was with his band, they opened for Devin Davis. EDIT: ok, it was November 2005 here's a thread about it Edited September 14, 2007 by Aricandover

Gobias Industries
I suppose Mikael has picked up a lot of the folkier/poppier side from Wilco.
giraffo
...and what's the deal with him being pretty much the largest contributor to The Wilco Book despite being the newest member at that point?
aricandover
...and what's the deal with him being pretty much the largest contributor to The Wilco Book despite being the newest member at that point? I'd guess that it has something to do with him being more talented than people give him credit for, and that the band had faith in his skills.

TCP
...and what's the deal with him being pretty much the largest contributor to The Wilco Book despite being the newest member at that point? He engineered and played on (not to mention one or two writing credits as wel) A Ghost Is Born so I imagine he had a lot to say. H to the ickle
"Grego exctricated himself to the confines of a cold-ass Chicago loft where he, Mr. J., Matt Lux, Jim Becker and Mr. Russ Arbuthnot (on the dials & tape machines) recorded the forthcoming album, "Surrounded By Ruins." Wilco loft anyone?
