How about that Ovechkin last night?!?!? 4 goals, assist, 2 monster hits, takes a stick in the face.......Wow. Not really a Caps or Ovie fan, but he is a dynamite player.

Too bad the press just loves that Cindy Crosby so much.

I'm sorry, but Sidney Crosby's the better player. Ovechkin's pretty great, but Crosby makes the players around him better.

Ovechkin might be the more impressive scorer, but I'll take Crosby 10 times out of 10. It's the difference between Gretzky and Lemiux. Lemiux might have been a better scorer, but Gretzky was the playmaker.

was it a good move, or a panic move firing Paddock ?

I think it may have been a panic move. What the Sens REALLY need to do is straighten Emery out, and stop depending so much on the big line. What was their record when Alfredsson was out? Brutal. But, I think Bryan Murray is a good hockey man, and should do a decent job behind the bench.

Well, I guess its a little disappointing to see the mighty mighty BJs throw in the towel on the season with the trades. Probably a good long-term move, but kind of robs this success-starved city of the excitement of having an outside shot at the playoffs for the first time ever. Oh well, it was a nice first half of the season, at least. Another step in the right direction.

Although, admittedly, it takes the shine off the tickets I have for a mid-March game during which I was holding out hope for a playoff-like atmosphere. Now I expect the team to be in a deep coma by then. (if they aren't already, judging by the lack of fight late in the game the other night)

I'm a Blues fan but I have a good friend who has a one of those BJ's partial season tix plans. It's too bad you guys didn't have a goalie (besides LeClaire or Mason) to trade to TB. If you pull off that trade for Richards it would have been a different story. It seems to me that Foote threw in the towel on your team. My friend said that Foote had a private jet waiting all day to take him out of town. Will Colorado visit Columbus before the season ends? I would drive 6 hours and pay scalper prices to see that! The Federov trade made a lot of sense since there was really no reason to try and resign him. I think we're only a point or so behind you but the Blues go on the road for 3 weeks and I think most of your games are at home. That mid-March game could be huge!

That Bruins-Panthers game tonight was something else. I love some low scoring hockey (Every now and again).

Craig Anderson came up huge with 40 saves and a shutout. Gotta love that from the backup.

I think the Panthers have been last in the league in shots allowed for like 4 straight years. It's crazy.

I say Sharks in the West, and the Canadiens in the East. But, can Carey Price take them that far? Perhaps we will see a repeat of Patrick Roy's Conn Smythe-winning performance from '86.

I am curious to see how the first round turns out. Alot of these teams played their hearts out getting to a playoff spot, and will they be a little burnt out?

Here's a statistic for you: Montreal and Boston have met in the playoffs 30 times! Boston has beat them 7 times.

I'd love to see an 8th seed go all the way to the finals (except for Nashville, Nashville is epitomizes everything that is wrong with the NHL these days) like Edmonton did a few years back but I don't see that happening anymore. Montreal is just too strong.

You know what I'd really love to see though? Penguins vs Capitals... man oh man.
