Before there were the Black Keys there was a group called Cash Money, which was two guys (guitar and drums). Later they had to change their name to Cash Audio, because they got sued by the Cash Money record company.

They played some great dirty bluesish stuff

Also check out Scott H. Biram, a one man band from down your way. His new album on Bloodshot is great.

not super new, but i've been digging on guitar wolf a lot lately....but i guess that's more garage than juke joint.

guitar wolf still absolutely blows my mind.

this is a bold statement, but i'll stand by it until the day i die.

guitar wolf did what every punk band in history has tried to do. play as loud, fast, and hard as (in)humanly possible.

Check out The BelRays, they might fit the bill.

Looking for other current bands like -

Black Keys, Thee Shams (Buffalo Killers), Deadly Snakes, Compulsive Gamblers, you know dirty bluesy rocking no apologies, nasty down home something for the juke joint.

Red Red Meat. Hell Yeah!

Check out the Fat Possum record label. Full of dirty, raw blues.
Good idea, since the Black Keys started out there, but their old blues guys do a pretty good job.LouieB
+1 for Scott Biram. Dirtiest one man band you will ever see. Kick ass.
I hace yet to see Scott, but I was shocked at how good his new album was. I figured most of his act was played out on his first Bloodshot album (which is old and new material I guess), but the new one has some excellent songs on it and great arrangements.LouieB

Ditto this. I insist that I am "Dashboard Drum Wolf" and should be an honorary member of the band. :rock

Ditto Reigning Sound also.
