Austin City Limits tonight

"Our local PBS station only showed it on the digital channel, and we're still gettin our waves thru the ole antenna."

your "off the air" broadcast should be digital. you will just need to invest in a digital off-air tuner. the gov'ment will be issuing 40 dollars to ppl who need them when the analoag broadcasts go "bye-bye".

i btw, have a digital off-air tuner that i no longer need. i don't know where you are in KS, but I am in parkville, mo. and, you can use antennaweb.org to see what digital broadcasts you get.

:blink If I knew what all of that meant, I guess I wouldn't still be using this archaic technology. I feel scared now. Hold me.

BTW, Thanks JHamm. I will send an email your way. B&P is simple enough for my feeble mind to understand.

it's pretty simple...

if you are using rabbit ears, you are more than likely recieving digital signals (in addition to analog). new and newer tv sets have a digital tuner built in, however as was with my old tv, some don't and you have to get a digital box (similiar to a cable box, but for off the air signals). once you have that box, you can watch digital stations on your tv.

what's your zip code? use your zip and/or address to find out how far broadcasts are from you. if you are in the greater KC area, you should be OK. but, if you already recieve off the air analog, you should be able to get off the air digital.

For some reason, this won't be on NYC-area public TV until this coming weekend.

God I love Side with Seeds. It is my favorite track off of SBS. Unless they are playing the songs live. Then it is hard to beat Impossible Germany. The triple guitar work at the end of Impossible when they play it live gives me chills almost every time I hear it.

Side With The Seeds is great live, though ... I knew that would be a live favorite of mine the first time I heard it on the album. :thumbup

I wholeheartedly agree that Side with Seeds is great live. I just like Impossible Germany live better.

One is from the Austin City Limits Festival...the other is Austin City Limits tv show...which the Festival gets its name from....yeah

oh, that's lame. so, then, I'm more intrigued about the "funkier" I'm the Man Who Loves You. Is it a vast difference?

ACL is now available over at bootcity.org. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it makes it to other trackers. Of course you can't beat a JHamm DVD. I just thought I'd let people know it's there.

EDIT: Meaning the DVD over on bootcity (tapecity) is NOT the JHamm DVD.

Thanks for the heads up. I just started downloading. Not too many seeders so far. Looks very new.

Thanks for the news! I'm downloading now.

I didn't have any luck recording this one. I'm not sure if I set the date/timer incorrectly or if the station decided not to show the program at the time they advertised - 3:00 AM! But then, why would they show a critically acclaimed music program Saturday evening when there are old British sitcoms to be re-run again and again . . .

Great performance....but....did Jeff sound a little less-than-enthusiastic during Pot Kettle Black? Seemed like it was emotionless....

Too Far Apart was outstanding!!

PKB was not included in the broadcast.

There's a pretty nice little interview on the ACL site now - ACL Interview When I get a DVD done, I'll include that and the Letterman, Leno, and Jools Holland appearances with it.

Thank you so much for all you do for us Jesse :thumbup. Getting these turned around so quickly is a great service and while I know it's a labor of love we all really really appreciate it.

A 630MB Xvid version taken from the high-def broadcast. Sendspace has a 300MB limit, so the file was broken into 3 200MB zip files which extract to create the video file.

Worked for me.

how do these work? the extension after the .zip is like .001 and my computer can't recognize them. If I try and change them it says the file doesn't work.

They're just spanned Zips. If you're using Windows, 7-Zip (free) will work. Just right-click on the first file and choose "extract here." Something like that.

Mac users should be able to use something like Zipeg (free)

I would think that any software that can handle Zip files should be able to extract spanned Zip files.

i'm on a mac, and i use stuffit expander for zip files. i get the error message "Unable to archive "acl.zip.001.zip" into desktop". (Error 2 - no such file or directory). i have all 3 files on the desktop... not sure going wrong.

I hate Stuffit, so I have no idea if it works for spanned archives. I'd expect it to, but I refuse to put that junk on my Mac to try it out. It might be easiest to just give Zipeg a shot.
