LouisvilleGreg
that's a great looking show. it's weird that i'm stuck in kentucky and missing my first wilco 9:30 show in many years. what time did you guys line up? hope its a little better than 8 degrees with 20mph winds? bböp
Yeah, it's nowhere near as cold as it was in Chicago. We didn't get there too too early. Sorry that you couldn't be there, Greg. We got a Jesse Hamm sighting, though.
Wendy
Fantastic setlist! Thanks Paul! I will definitely be listening in tomorrow night on the NPR live stream! And the "Burn to Shine" guys? DVD?!?
yohansen5b
great, great show. none of the really crazy fun stuff...i'm hoping that's tomorrow. i'm so giddy for it! i was in the center front, about 3 people back from the stage -- were there any of you there? i was also next to the very drunk girl who took off her bra and threw it (surprisingly accurate) at jeff during 'heavy metal drummer.' gabepride
Sweet sassy molassy, that show was awesome. I heard ten songs I've never heard live before - and I've seen Wilco maybe nine or ten times now. Every time I see them, I'm surprised that they keep getting better. The only downside was that the 9:30 keeps overselling, and there was hardly any room to move. Great show, it left me smiling. And the light bulb poster is sweet. blindgonzo
wow! sounds like a great show. dvd news is always welcome!
Nobody Girl
i was also next to the very drunk girl who took off her bra and threw it (surprisingly accurate) at jeff during 'heavy metal drummer.'I love that Jeff praised her for her accuracy.
dixiecupdrinker
...and they were awarded with a "Faux Grammy". Good times. It was great seeing Jhamm, too! Safe travels back to N.C., my friend. I was standing a few feet behind the bra tosser. What a fun show! anyway, dcd
bobbob1313
Thats a hell of a setlist.
AURugby17
A good show overall. Magazine Called Sunset was definitely a nice surprise. Not as much banter tonight as I expected. Jeff is usually a little chatty when he comes to DC as it's an appropriate time to poke fun at the suits on the Hill. I think the highlight of my night was the drive the venue, though. After about 25 minutes of wrong turns, I randomly spotted Jeff walking out of his hotel. Awfully nice of him to show us the way. Hope I'll be able to make it out tomorrow night. panicattack3
great show, loved it, now I need a ticket for tonite...a littel help please?
isadorah
just got in !!! so much fun! what a set list. that was a set list i could only dream of. they rocked it out tonight! the crowd was into it, we got praised for the sing along with summerteeth, oh the gems, nuggets, chestnuts if you will that we got in the set list! i can't wait to see what is in store for tomorrow night! i was right behind the girl with the grammy. it was all too funny!!! and the bra during heavy metal drummer. even funnier. and the total pros was a wonderful addition. my favorite song tonight though, had to be blood of the lamb. those bells. it's rather insane to see how many bells glenn had rigged up, but oh it sounded oh so good!!! need sleep and rest, and high hopes that the
k8tee
wow! amazing setlist! can't wait to hear tomorrow's (tonight's) show on the npr webcast. those first two songs are killer with daaaaaa total pros.
ms. yvon
oh, that setlist!! *swoon* hooray!
remphish1
Wait.......I m confused? Are they playing Outta Site from Disk 2 or 1 from Being There recently? If it is 2 paint me jealous!
yohansen5b
I love that Jeff praised her for her accuracy. not only that but jeff seemed genuinely embarrassed. for those who weren't there or didn't see, about 5 songs from the end of the show, these three girls pushed their way all the way to the front. they were about 3 people back from the stage, right next to me. at first, i thought them annoying. all they wanted to do was mainly scream at every opportunity. but, when the band kicked in to heavy metal drummer, two of the girls started yelling at the first "do it! do it now!" i saw them out of the corner of my eye helping the other girl do something. then, as jeff sings, she flings her bra hitting him square in the chest. to throw a bra from 10 yards away and hit her target so well while being rather intoxicated was pretty impressive. blue_94_trooper
to throw a bra from 10 yards away and hit her target so well while being rather intoxicated was pretty impressive. The brassiere is not typically known for its ballistic properties. Hope tonight's setlist is as interesting. Thanks NPR!
gepman
Pieholden, Just A Kid, Blood, Summerteeth, Magazine... all made me a very happy boy! Faux Grammy, Bra Tossing, doesn't get much better... FYI, doors opened at 7PM (not 7:30 as stated on the ticket). Band hit the stage at 9. (A bit early for the 930 Club). Good Times... epm
That set list simply rocks. Hell, considering everyone who attended the residency shows (me included) were expecting them to pull stuff out of their back-sides, this set, to me at least, seems even more special. But that
Hodie
Yow, that was a fun show. I knew I'd be happy getting the leavings resulting from the residency shows! I loved Pieholden with the Total Pros, and both Magazine and Pot Kettle Black are songs I definitely have not heard often enough yet. The crowd near us could not have been more charming. There weren't any pushy or growly people the whole night, and we were even unaffected by over-imbibers, at least until the bra girls came jostling in. It was indeed toasty warm in there, i.e. sweaty. I'm pretty sure I'll look nice and glowy along with looking nice and ridiculous in the dvd footage. Hope the "IPS Server Error" will let me post this....
itstillmoves84
John Doe is a talented musician. I appreciate his abilities but I just wasn't into it at all. Sort of static music. At least to me anyways. The closing of the first set with: Red-Eyed and Blue - I Got You - Monday - Outtasite was absolutely amazing. The crowd was so into the music. Definitely a welcomed sign from Tower. The Total Pros added a different element. Walken was great with them. I'm interested to see what they play tonight. Lots of Being There last night. I'm hoping for Spiders tonight. That would be so intense in 9:30. Pretty sure aside from the camera crew, there was a taper there too.
