That's all I need to say. There's not a single live album that I've listened to nearly as much as Curtis/Live!. I actually can't think of another live album in my collection besides Rock of Ages, which is hit or miss for me. I don't generally like live albums. Curtis/Live! is so raw and beautiful. Its a welcome respite from the huge arrangements of his studio albums at that time.

Brinsley Schwarz - Cruel To Be Kind

Cheap Trick - At Budokon

Iron Maiden - Live After Death

Television - The Blow Up

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Live Seeds

The Move - Black Country Rock

EDIT:

And that Iron Maiden one is not a joke; that is one helluva live record.

Iron Maiden - Live After Death - they recently put out a DVD of that show - I could have been at that concert.

I will add KISS Alive I - although, like many live albums of the day, a lot of it was re-recorded in the studio.

I suppose my favorites are Made in Japan, and Live At Leeds.

Believe it or not, the J. Geils Band, "Live, Full House" from '72 is a scorcher......nothing like their boring studio stuff.....this album makes it very clear they flourished in a live concert setting. I picked up a vinyl version of this album at an estate sale for a buck last summer, slapped it on the turntable and blammo, she's a keeper.......

Judas Priest's "Unleashed in the East" is a timeless classic too. Seriously.

No love for Neil? Weld is a great live album and the Arc part of it is...is...um its there.

I do like Neil. I just find the Arc/Weld albums excessive in the noise department and not very accessible. I don't think I've listened to them more than 3-4 times since they first came out. Just my take, of course.

That was a great tour of Neil's, circa 90 or 91, right?

I recall Sonic Youth opening and most of the crowd was like...............huh, who's this?

Oh, the shows from that tour were fantastic. NY and Crazy Horse really dwarfed Sonic Youth. I just don't get into the Arc/Weld stuff as a concept album(s) I guess.
