Stefanie
bob marley-legendvan morrison-tupelo honeypaul simon-gracelandgomez-bring it onanything by the band and for wilco shows, i don't think it has to be a show that you went to. i don't necessarily see why it matters if you were there or not. lamradio
and for wilco shows, i don't think it has to be a show that you went to. i don't necessarily see why it matters if you were there or not. It doesn't matter that much, but it's always great to re-live the moment.. Everytime I listen to a show I've been to (Charlotte 6-20-07 for example), it really takes me back... Good times.. Lynch
One of my favorite driving albums is Blonde on Blonde. When "Stuck Inside Of Mobile...." comes on it makes me smile. One of the best road trip songs ever!
Smokestack Joe
i always enjoyed Trace - Son Volt as a good road record and most Uncle Tupelo.
ponch1028
I always try to have exactly two albums by an artist or group. That way, if you really get into that artist, you can follow-up with a second CD. However, after two albums, I try to switch gears not only with artists or bands but also with musical style or genre. I also lean on Greatest Hits and compilations for road trips. With that in mind, I had roughly 20+ hours of work related travel this past fall and here is a list of albums I find myself constantly listening to while on the road: Wilco: My most recent live stuff at the time.Josh Ritter: The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter & Animal YearsVan Morrison: Moondance & It's Too Late to Stop NowBob Dylan: Anything (usually live Bootleg Series stuff)Neil Young: Anything, pick twoComedy albums - Steven Wright or Lewis BlackAny type of This American Life CD or podcastJohnny Cash: Normally Folsem & San QuentinBeatles: Number One Hits & Abbey RoadBeach Boys: Usually Their Greatest HitsThe Band: Rock of Ages & The Band80's Great Hits Compilation: Usually 2 CD MixEddie From Ohio: Fun stuffGuster: Ganging Up On The Sun & Keep it TogetherJoy Division: PermanentMichael Jackson: Thriller & BadThe National: Boxer & AlligatorPaul Simon: There Goes Rhymin' Simon & Graceland, & Concert in Central ParkR.E.M. Out of Time & Lifes Rich PageantRadiohead: The Bends & OK ComputerRod Stewart & The Faces: Greatest Hits CompilationThem: The Story of Them Greatest Hits CompilationTom Petty & The Heartbreakers: Greatest Hits & Wildflowers

jc4prez
One of my favorite driving albums is Blonde on Blonde. When "Stuck Inside Of Mobile...." comes on it makes me smile. One of the best road trip songs ever! you got that one right on the money. As everyone else said The Band is great driving music, I love the bunea vista social club album as well as any dead show. I think it all depends on were your driving, I try to let the road dictate the tunes. Matching music with a beautiful scenery (and a joint) is always one of my favorites. I do a lot of driving to remote areas and theres nothing better then having the road to yourself and your tunes cranked.
Jesusetc84
Depends on time of day for me...my dad and I drove 15 hours about a year back and this is what I remember listening to: Morning: R.E.M.- MurmurNeil Young- Tonight's The Night (You haven't lived until you've seen the sunrise coming up on the highway to the chorus of Albuquerque)The Beatles- Rubber Soul Mid Day: Grateful Dead- American BeautyBob Dylan- Blonde on Blonde (ACTUALLY GOT STUCK INSIDE of MOBILE TO SYNCH UP WITH US DRIVING THROUGH MOBILE)Johnny Cash- At Folsom Prison Afternoon: The Band- The BandThe Smashing Pumpkins- Siamese DreamThe Zombies- Oddessy & Oracle Night: Nirvana- NevermindBruce Springsteen- Born to RunDavid Bowie- Aladdin SaneThe Arcade Fire- Funeral basically at night, I switched to a less rural feel. I forgot to bring any Lucinda Williams sadly; Car Wheels would've been so great on the trip.
