Letters to Cleo "Here and Now"

Portishead "Sour Times"

Mazzy Star "Fade Into You"

Rage Against the Machine "Bulls on Parade"

Sublime "Date Rape"

and I also loved that Toadies tune. I remember waiting by my radio for it to come on so I could hit "record" on the tape deck and snag it. I eventually just bought the cassette.

edit: I keep having to edit this thing because you've all named my songs! :yay

There's a song I'm blanking on - the artist was a dude with a name that I'm confusing with "Edwin McCain" and the song had "girl" in the title, and it was a crooner-type performance (kinda Bowie-esque vocals) with a fuzz guitar hook. It's become an AOR favorite, but when it first came out (96ish?) it was pretty cool.
