Sir Stewart
Yes, Reality of My Surroundings has held up well - I gave it a spin a few months back.
NightOfJoy
Mazzy Star "Fade Into You" Great tune, great album.
NightOfJoy
yesss! that entire album was pretty damn good. Indeed, Courtny could really belt it out when she wanted too. Rumour back then was that Kurt wrote all the tunes on that album...

cryptique
What was Betty Seviert's big hit?Bettie Serveert had a "big hit"? I don't think I've ever heard one of their songs on the radio, or seen a video on TV. I really dug that band back in the day. Saw them play once -- they're pretty good live. the carlos
I remember them having a hit of sorts but I don't recall the name of the song.

Sir Stewart
There was definitely some Bettie Serveert song that got a lot of play on MTV.
plasticeyeball
it had to be one of these: "Leg"- 6:11 "Palomine" - 4:09 "Kid's Allright" - 4:20 "Brain-tag" - 6:26 "Tom Boy" - 4:21 "Under the Surface" - 4:17 "Balentine" - 4:11 "This Thing Nowhere" - 3:18 "Healthy Sick" - 2:23 "Sundazed to the Core" - 7:05 "Palomine (small)" - 2:31 you guys pick one, i'll sing a little of it, then you decide if that was it or not. myboyblue
It was Palomine.
Sir Stewart
I think the singer was in a bathtub in the video and things were red. I'm not having any luck on YouTube. She bears a remarkable resemblance to the comedian Maria Bamford.

Degenerex
"Sucked Out" - Superdrag What a great, great band! And they just got added to Bonnaroo. I'll throw in "Bound for the Floor" by Local H... even though I'm a HUGE Local H fan and very tired of that song. But it was a hit.. and Whoever You Are - Geggy TahNot an Addict - K's ChoiceRevved Up - Triplefastaction
EL the Famous
Wasnt 'Bonin' in the Boneyard' their big one? i'd say party at ground zero was probably bigger as a single, but we're talking 90's.

Golden Smoghead
"Brimful of Asha" by Cornershop The first time I heard it was a revelation. Before that I never realized that everybody does need a bosom for a pillow.Pretty amazing song. BTW I know Eels are a one-hit-wonder because of "Novocaine for the Soul," but I swear that is their worst track. I highly recommend people check them out if you have not. My additions: "Bad Reputation" - Freedy Johnston"Dyslexic Heart" - Paul Westerberg"Banditos" (everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people, so meet me at the mission at midnight, we'll divvy up there) - The Refreshments"Blackwater" - Meat Puppets And maybe this should be a separate thread, but I sometimes get very nostalgic for 90s trashy pop-country: "Small Town Saturday Night" - Hal Ketchum"18 Wheels and a Dozen Roses" - Kathy Mattea"The Wheel" - Roseanne Cash
