tongue-tied lightning
24 round trip. it's getting scary, how the price is going up.never thought I'd need to get a more gas friendly car, but.... there goes the Challenger dream
cryptique
I go 8 miles each way, at least five of it on the freeway, and I have the reverse commute (I'm outbound when everyone else is inbound, and vice versa) so traffic's never an issue. Most days, that's all the driving I do. If I stop at the store, it's on the way and really doesn't add to my mileage.
jcroach
10 miles round trip. The wife and I even carpool!

ikol
About a 12-mile round trip.
myboyblue
32 miles each way. The perfect end to each perfect day. Generally, doesn't bother me thanks to iPod/podcasts. However, I have my moments. The $50+ in gas each week isn't exactly great either.
burns3
1.2 miles each way done by bicycle
VenusStopsTrain2
Around 25 miles one way to town from home...Lately between my 2 jobs thats 7 days a week of driving..so a full tank lasts me about 6 of those days..since I get just around 330 miles for a full tank. Gas where I live has jumped in price to 3.32 but the last time I bought it it was 3.24 p/g. I would love to live in town but it would cost me nearly as much as buying the gas. Reni
I get dropped off at the train which is 1 1/2 miles from my house - train ride is 35 min and bus ride is 15 min. No way in hell would I drive in.
markosis
About 6 miles, down one road. I'd love to bike to work, but out here there's some treacherous stretches where there's absolutely no shoulder at all and no easy way to safely to the side of the road. And in the once rural-becoming suburbs where I live, people have no respect for biking folk.
Wilco LP #7
I'm in college and walk everywhere, maybe 3-4 miles/day. It's pretty awesome and free.

Oil Can Boyd
About two years ago I changed jobs and went from driving 20 miles each way (which took about 30 minutes) to taking public transportation about 6 miles each way (which takes about 40 minutes).
W(TF)
A 12 minute walk. I can beat that, 3 days a week.... a 4-foot "walk" from my bed to my desk. But on the other two days, it's 52 miles each way. And I'll have to do it every day for about 4 mos. of this year.
isadorah
5 miles each way if i choose to drive (free parking in the city rocks on days when you can't get out of bed). i've been driving to work practically everyday for the past two months simply because i had the motorin' bug (MINI), but am back to being sensible. interesting enough i've managed to put 4000 miles on my new car in the past two months. guess i have really had that motorin' bug. as of today my commute has gone back to being 10 steps out my apartment door to the bus, 10 steps from the bus to the metro, cross the street from the metro to the office. repeat in reverse.
