Pop Culture Blasphemy Thread

Every single episode of Seinfeld has a classic moment. It is the most popular syndicated show of all time and set the price record.

They don't pay $1,600,000 an episode for a show if it didn't have merrits. I agree in the fact that it is taylored more so to NY humor so maybe some people out of the area don't get some of the refrences!

30 Rock is the best network sitcom of all time.

I always thought that was the popular opinion.

I think it's quite the bullshit in comparison to Studio 60.

Friends and Raymond were very formulaic and drab.

Jim Carey and Adam Sandler cannot act nor could they make me laugh.

Sideways and Crash are part of the dumbing down of film. Both of these movies hammer you in the head with blatantly apparent motifs and symbols until it means nothing.

I never cared for Harry Potter.

I never cared for Star Wars (yeah, it's a great allegory, but, meh).

I remember when we had that thread where a bunch of people said Jessica Simpson was ruining America because she was too attractive, though the people who said this also thought she was not attractive. That was a fun thread.

1. God forbid some don't find J. Simpson attractive. I don't find her type appealing because, well, I'm also not excited by the sight of a shrink-wrapped Barbie Doll (though, given your strict subjectivist view of the world, there's no point in even discussing a topic such beauty or attractiveness. Or anything as far as that goes.).

2. No one made the claim that J. Simpson was ruining America - though, if you prefer to remember it that way, have at it - knock your own self out.

The music blasphemy thread has been going well without people going back and forth disagreeing to the point that arguments are itemized by numbers. Please refrain from fights and make with the blasphemy.

I don't even go for the types with the large mammalian protuberances

What about if they're viewed through a "thoroughly soaked, stupid looking white sort of male person's conservative kind of middle-of-the-road COTTON UNDERGARMENT" ? :lol

Ashlee>Jessica

Ashlee Judd.

Yes, that is a beautiful woman.

Blasphemy:

Lawns. And our vulgar obsession to obtain and create a lush green carpet. It's ridiculous. It's harmful on so many levels. Go to hell Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue. There's nothing wrong with clover and dandelions.

Other than looking like shit, no.

How do you feel about lawns with tattoos on their faces?

Close-cropped Kentucky Bluegrass makes something like 75% of water run off, because their roots are so dense at the surface. So instead of the water being absorbed by the soil and eventually repleneshing the water table, it runs into a drainage ditch and ends up in a water treatment plant. So even if you're not spraying your lawn with tons of chemicals or watering it violently, then it's still not very good for the environment.

The most popular alternative seems to be buffalo grass. I don't have my own lawn, so I haven't been able to try it out.

Yessir. You are correct.

One can also eschew the idea of a traditional ground cover altogether and look towards a variety of plants like vincas, creeping thyme and chamomile.

I'm trying to be fairly vague and not rant /elaborate on my opinions (although you wouldn't know it from my previous post concerning cell phones etc.) to retain the spirit of the thread.
