opsopcopolis
Well at least he's still playing. Doing what he loves to do because he loves to do it (and needs the money but thats beside the point)
mpolak21
Yes, he sang on a few songs. Very quiet voice now. He looked like he's aged a ton lately, but he was still playing the drums, albeit with a backup. He's had a few throat cancer scares over the past years. I'm amazed he's still able to tour as well he has. A few months ago I was watching an old SCTV episode and Levon was the musical guest:
opsopcopolis
^ that's fantastic. I think he has some great singing days despite his throat cancer. This for example: Obviously of all the people that could get cancer of the vocal chords it'd be fuckin' Levon Helm
mpolak21
My Dad and I saw him in North Carolina a few years ago, and I agree, he still has some amazing vocal moments. The Band's harmonies standup with anyone's, Levon, Danko and of course Richard Manuel could sing the fucking phonebook. --Mike
Mr. Heartbreak
Sometimes I can't help but wonder how many of today's popular musicians spend the kind of time and energy on their music that Steely Dan did. I'm guessing very few at best.http://youtu.be/0_KCcxFKTuk
