Thank cod we can count on obama's fiscally coservative voting record in these troubled times

Just out of curiosity, do the rest of you pull out a kleenex tissue every time you post here? As I said, just curious.

He will be fiscally conservative as compared to the previous 8 years. However, the economy needs fiscal responsibility. Yes, I believe that he will deliver on this.

Not even sure what that means.

I saw Obama! I saw Obama! I saw Obama! I saw Obama! I saw Obama!

16 rows back from Obama!!

Obama in KC Kansas City rocks! Over 75,000 inside the Liberty Memorial grounds, thousands more outside. What an amazing time (stood in 1 spot for 3 hours to see him). He cut his speech short, talked about 45 minutes. Lots of folks from Kansas there to support him as well.

My pics be will posted later..here are a few from the paper. The last one is from the dem headquarters in KC.

Wow, just wow.

And yes, I did need a kleenex after watching that.

Thanks for posting this Austrya - I kinda slept in and missed MTP.

Colin Powell is/was one of the very few in the Bush Admin with any integrity, and for that those bastards left him hanging out to dry - shameful. As the standard bearer for the Republican Party McCain should have the final say of the direction the party has taken, and he let the Rove wing of the party set agendas that are not in the spirit of bipartisanship so Powell's endorsement is very telling.

Misty morning

Clouds in the sky

Without warning

A wizard walks by

Casting his shadow

Weaving his spell

Flowing clothes

Tinkling bell

Never talking

Just keeps walking

Spreading his magic

Evil power disappears

Demons worry when the wizard is near

He turns tears into joy

Everyone's happy when the wizard walks by

Never talking

Just keeps walking

Spreading his magic

Sun is shining

Clouds have gone by

All the people

Give a happy sigh

He has passed by

Giving his sign

Left all the people

Feeling so fine

Never talking

Just keeps walking

Spreading his magic

My neighbor bought a piece of used exercised equipment recently and drove out to a small town to pick it up. The yard of the person's house had McCain/Palin signs about every 3 inches and as an added "bonus" present they offered to throw in a "NOBAMA!" yard sign for free with the treadmill. She wanted to tell them where they could stick that yard sign, but she wanted help carrying the treadmill to the truck, so she didn't. :lol So she is now the proud owner of a "NOBAMA!" sign that is almost too amusing to simply throw away.

I suggested that with a little DIY work it could easily be turned into a "GOBAMA!" sign. And in four years, it will make an excellent "MOBAMA! '12" sign.

:cheers

Wow, that was one stellar endorsement. I got chills. Anyone else watching?

It was a rare thing: An articulate, thoughtful, and reflective endorsement.

I saw it this morning. It was all of the above and then some. His answer on the Muslim question was downright inspiring -- and shows the approach of conciliation is always right.

wonderful. as a lifelong republican connected to the military and with heavy responsibilities in the administrations of both bushes, powell gave one of the most well-thought-out descriptions of the reasons for his choice that i've heard from any prominent public person -- republican, democrat, independent, or martian. i especially appreciated that his decision is based partly on the republican campaign tactics of the last couple of months, which have been despicable. he sees them for what they are, and he sees the difference in integrity & vision between the candidate using those tactics and the candidate who instead is more concerned with reaching out for and inspiring the best in people -- certainly better than the lowness the mccain/palin are giving away their souls to appeal to. powell disappointed me some in the past, but he has more than made up for it now, especially since it's obvious he has been thinking, analyzing, weighing, looking at the country and its future and its place in the world, and getting his priorities straight. what a breath of fresh air.

on cnn.com just now:

Sen. John McCain said today he's "very happy" with the way his campaign is going, despite his status in the polls. "I love being the underdog," the Republican candidate said. "You know, every time that I've gotten ahead, somehow I've messed it up."

i guess that was meant to be cute? at this point my advice to mccain would be to try serious therapy, and i'm not kidding.
